RED HEART® “Light & Lofty®”: 1 skein 9931 Rainforest Multi. RED HEART® “Super Saver®”: 1 skein 303 Painted Desert Print.
Circular Knitting Needles: 12.75 [US 17] 24” long.Place marker, yarn needle.
GAUGE: 7 sts = 4”; 12 rows = 4” in St st with 1 strand of each yarn held tog. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needle to obtain the gauge.
Special AbbreviationM1 (make one stitch) = Lift running thread before next stitch onto left needle and knit into the back loop.
HATWith 1 strand of each yarn held together, cast on 36 sts.Row 1: * P2, k2; repeat from * to end of row. Repeat Row 1 once more.
JoinPlace marker for beginning of round and join, being careful not to twist sts. Work 3 rounds in P2, k2 rib as established.
Next Round (Inc): * K9, m1; repeat from * around–40 sts. Work even in St st (knit every round) until piece measures 7” from beginning. Cut Super Saver and continue in Light and Lofty only. Work even until piece measures 9” from beginning.
Shape CrownRound 1: [K8, k2tog] 4 times–36 sts.Round 2: [K7, k2tog] 4 times–32 sts.Round 3: [K6, k2tog] 4 times–28 sts.Round 4: [K5, k2tog] 4 times–24 sts.Round 5: [K2tog]12 times–12 sts.
FINISHINGCut yarn leaving long tail. Thread tail through remaining sts and pull tightly to secure. Sew 2 rows at lower edge together. Weave in yarn ends.
