Welcome!

Thank you for grabbing my new report.

Inside this report, you will learn the most common mistakes that coaches unconsciously make that sabotage their income.

Even the smart, experienced ones. (Oftentimes, ESPECIALLY them!)

How do I know?

I have been coaching for over a decade. In that time, not only have I made a stack of them myself (and know the pitfalls and struggles of them intimately from cold, brutal experience), I’ve also mentored a stack of coaches suffering from the same mistakes.

These super-smart, experienced people had all the ‘appearances’ of a successful coach. But still, they knew something wasn’t working. They just didn’t know what.

And you can’t fix what you don’t know is broken.

So, instead of leaving you to figure these out for yourself, I want to give you a head-start and fighting chance at succeeding.

Whether you are just starting out as a coach, or have been in the game a long time, understanding the traps not to fall into will be über-useful.

You will also learn what you need to focus on to succeed at impacting the world.

Print this report out, and USE it. You now have the blueprint for what to do - and what NOT to do - in your hot, little hands!

So, thanks again for joining me! I trust you’ll gain the insight and strategies you need to transform your income and impact on the world.

If there is any aspect of this report that you would like help with, I’d be happy to help you transform whatever you need to get on with success. You can reach me at the web address below.

To your crazy-awesome mission!

THE COMMON MISTAKES

These are the most common mistakes.

If you are making any of these mistakes - and you didn’t know you were, it is totally not your fault.

You didn’t know. No-one told you.

These entrepreneurial pitfalls are the unconscious mistakes that are sooooo easy to fall into.

There are four main types of mistakes coaches make, so I have broken them up for you into categories.

• Mindset Mistakes• Strategic Mistakes• Mistakes Made Through Assumption• Behavioral Mistakes

You may notice areas where you are stronger - and perhaps areas where maybe you have a few more tweaks to resolve.

One word of caution before you dive in to them…

Once you know them, you will no longer have any excuse for failure.

If you like having an excuse for failure, you may want to put this report down. Consider carefully if success is what you really want… because you might be about to arm yourself with the very thing that will catapult your career.

This is certainly my intent in giving it to you. I hope you’re ready!

Before we start, let me share that some of these mistakes you may recognize in yourself. Some you may recognize in other people you know.

I would highly encourage you to read this for yourself though.

While it can be incredibly tempting to think about others when we read things like this, doing that will have us avoid recognizing our own mistakes. If you do that, you may well miss the very gold that will transform your business…

… and income and life and family’s lives and …. (need I say more?)

By all means, feel free to share this with your friends and colleagues, if you think it will be useful for them, but please read it with yourself in mind and use it for yourself first.

If you want to share it with them later, here is a link you can use to copy it directly to them with one click of a button.

But back to you…

To help you correct any mistakes that you might be making, I have put cute little boxes next to each mistake, so that you can tick any that apply to you.

That way, you can come back to them when constructing your plan about what you will change, to shift the course of your future.

I’ve even given you a Personal Success Plan at the end of this report to help you construct your own list of things to focus on.

The cool thing about knowing these is that you’ll be able to make a plan and, if you truly want to succeed, execute it, so that you can stop sabotaging your income and finally make the impact you want to make on the world.

Ready?

Cool.

Let’s dig in…..

COMMON STRATEGIC MISTAKES

The second set of mistakes coaches make are about:

• Their Strategy• Their Business model• Their Service delivery model• Making the ‘numbers’ work (i.e., often they don’t!)

2.1 Not having a success strategy

2.2 Having a strategy - but not a proven strategy

2.3 Not sticking to a strategy, because of lack of focus

2.4 Not changing tack on an ineffective strategy that isn’t working at getting results (“flogging a dead horse”)

2.5 Thinking ‘success will happen’ when you ‘get discovered’. ( NB / A tiny percentage of people ‘get discovered’. WAITING for this results in almost certain failure. )

2.6 Not picking a specific niche / target

2.7 Not targeting specific niche in marketing

2.8 Being too busy with service delivery, while not making the money you want (broken business model)

2.9 Trying to be everything to everyone (thinking that is the best way to go to deliver income)

2.10 Not committing to a direction (remaining unspecific)

2.11 Believing you are limited to your local market

2.12 Overcomplicating your business and/or service delivery models

2.13 Not developing a targeted program (and instead selling dollars for hours)

2.14 Thinking creation of a low-value product (e.g., e-book, e-course) will lead to financial success (without a proven model for high quantity sales, with high-value distribution, traffic channels and compelling copywriting skills/paying a talented copywriter)

MISTAKES MADE THROUGH ASSUMPTION

The third set of mistakes coaches make because of false assumptions about:

• What creates success• How long succeeding takes• How a coaching business ‘should look’

3.1 Believing the presence of the perfect logo, website, brochure, blog, headshot/photo shoot, byline or moniker is the answer/key to success

3.2 Believing a logo, website, brochure, photoshoot, blog, byline, or moniker is essential for success

3.3 Thinking success can be achieved on your own (that you should/could do it all, and/or that you have the skill, ability and time to do it all on your own without killing yourself trying)

3.4 Thinking that people will magically find your website without you actively investing time, energy and money driving traffic to it

3.5 Thinking marketing is, or should be about you (and not your client)

3.6 Thinking that you have to have a ‘menu of services’ (or products) for people to choose from

3.7 Assuming that success can be done on your own (i.e., not having a mentor in the areas you are not masterful in)

3.8 Believing earning good money will take a long time (and it will if you don’t have the right mindset, an effective strategy and take the right actions)

3.9 Thinking your business is about you – and therefore not knowing how to speak to the market about what you offer

3.10 Believing that getting it perfect is more important than progress or sales (perfectionism)

WHAT TO FOCUS ON TO ELIMINATE MISTAKES

If you want to make money and be successful as a coach, this is a list of actions and behaviours which will help you to overcome and eliminate the mistakes you might be making.

Know what you want

Know why you want it

Get a proven success strategy

Stick to a strategy, but evaluate and make adjustments if it’s not working

Pick a niche / specific target

Choose a business model that works for generating wealth (not keeping you busy without wealth and success)

Don’t try to be everything to everyone

Be the best for your particular market/niche/clientele

Target a specific niche(s) in your marketing

Take massive action

Deliver massive value to the world through your services (Don’t just think about it!)

Embrace sales as the key to your success

Once you have clarity on your genius, your offer, and a message that lands with your specific target niche, invest in lead generation to drive traffic to ‘your door’

Let go of fear / Act anyway

Make offers – constantly

Be willing to learn, make mistakes, and course correct as you go

Reflect on and understand what actions are critical (and which ones are low-value and distracting)

Focus on the ‘one big thing’ you need to do to make (more) sales

Working actively on and expanding yourself; focus on courage and being the biggest version of yourself

Realise that success is almost never achieved on one’s own (i.e., outsource activities that you aren’t good at, don’t want to do, don’t have time for, get mentoring/training by experts in areas you need help in)

Hire a mentor/coach with a track record for helping clients get results

When you knowing something is holding you back (i.e., inner self worth, self doubt, fears), get help!

Work only with people you like/love (ideal clients)

Develop an abundant mindset

Focus! Focus! Focus! Do not allow yourself to scatter your energy

Running an authentic practice (practice what you preach)

Go out and ‘get yourself discovered’ (by your perfect clients). Stop waiting for fame.

Work out what your weaknesses (or areas you lack motivation), work out which ones are impeding your success, and which you can outsource to get stuff done and progress happening

Overcome poor habits

Build effective new habits

Turn off distractions

If your business isn’t already international, consider (immediate) expansion into the global economy

Simplify your business and/or service delivery models

Do not sell dollars for hours. Sell programs and packages that are value-based

Let go of perfectionism

If you invest in training, actually implement it

Set healthy, strong boundaries with clients

Resolve any past accounts and tax issues – stat!

Check that your marketing and promotion is not arrogant, slimy or self promotional in a way that is off-putting

When you don’t have clarity about something (e.g., positioning, marketing, mindset, sales, branding) get active expert help to get clarity so progress can be made

Do not judge (or gossip about) other coaches’ / practitioners services (it just makes you look bad and is coming from scarcity thinking)

Value your time/experience/results/offer

Trust the right people will happily pay good money for what they get from you

Trust your genius and brilliance

Do not judge or compare yourself (or your business) with others. You are unique – and so are your clients needs.

If you don’t already know, learn how you are unique so you understand this and can use it to your advantage!

Get good at marketing and sales (learn if you aren’t already)

Stop taking too much responsibility for their clients / clients’ results
