Features of modern freight village
• Land area up to hundreds of hectares
• Good connections to roadways, railways, harbour and airport (multimodal
logistics)
• Large amount of logistics operators/companies (transport companies,
warehouses, terminals etc.)
• Large variety of supporting services (maintenance, cleaning, security …)
• Working place for hundreds or thousands of persons
• There could be a development company, which is responsible for the long
term development of the area
These kind of Freight Villages are currently under planning and construction in
Finland.
