Introduction The product is designed to enable PC users access to the Internet via GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA networks. It uses a standard USB interface for a fast simple connection to your PC. The modem’s firmware includes the following features:

● Internet services ● Statistics ● Phonebook ● SMS ● Setting ● USSD ● Call ● MicroSD card

Description

Launching the Terminal Management To launch the program, double-click the shortcut icon of the Terminal Management on the desktop. Note:

● When you are required to enter the PIN, enter the correct PIN and click “OK”. If you fail to enter the correct PIN for 3 times then you should enter the correct PUK to set a new PIN

● The SIM/USIM card is supplied by the service provider. For details, contact your service provider.

Status Information The following table lists the status information

Note:

● When you move the cursor to the icon, the number of total and unread message(s) is displayed

● Double click or then the SMS interface will pop ● If the SMS icon flashes, it means a folder is full. In order not to affect the

follow-up message receive, please delete some messages or set the message

storage location to PC

Internet Services Accessing the Internet After setting the network and connection profiles, you can access the network smoothly. Please reference to the setting module for the specific setting process. To access the Internet, do as follows:

1. Click to display the “Connection” interface . 2. Select the correct profile in the drop-down list. 3. Click “Connect” to set up the connection. Note:

● When the connection is established, the traffic information will be displayed in the bottom of the “Connection” interface.

● When the connection is established, click “Disconnect” to disconnect from the network.

Statistics Information You can use the Statistics function to see the current or previous traffic information .

Click to view the traffic information. Click “Traffic Statistics” to display the traffic record and you can clear the related statistics information. Note:

● The statistical data of the traffic is only for your reference. The actual traffic information is accounted on the basis of the traffic data collected by the operator.

SMS

The Terminal Management provides SMS services and the messages can be easily managed. There are several folders in the SMS interface. A brief introduction as follows:

Inbox: Display the messages stored in SIM card. Its capacity depends on the SIM card itself. Outbox: Display the outgoing messages and not sent successfully messages. SentItems: Display the messages sent successfully. Drafts: Display the messages you have stored before To display a particular folder, do as follows:

1. Click to display the “SMS” interface 2. Choose an specific folder in “All Folders” Creating and Sending a Message

1. Click to display the SMS interface 2. Select a item in "All Folders" 3. Click the "New" to create a new message 4. Enter the recipient number by using one of the following options:

● Enter the recipient number directly ● Click “To” then select the phone number in the “View Phonebook” interface

5. Enter the message content. 6. After the content is edited, you can choose the following options:

● Send: Send the message ● Save: Save the message as a draft

Note: ● Make sure the SMS center number is right before sending a message.You can

go to the setting interface to view or modify the SMS center number ● You can group send a message but each number should be separated by ";" ● You can enter up to 1120 characters in a message each time and it will be sent

in 8 short messages ●

Viewing a Message To view a message, do as follows: 1. Select a message to read.

2. Click the selected message then details will be displayed below the message list. 3. Double click the selected message then you can send the message to the message receiver.Right-click the selected message for the following options:

● Open: send the message to the message receiver. ● Delete: Delete the selected message. ● Reply: re-edit the message and send it to the message sender. ● Re-dial: Re-dial the message sender. ● PickUp: In the “New Contact” interface, enter other information (including

name,mobile number, office number, home number, email address and remarks), and save the contact.

Note: ● You can press and hold Shift or Ctrl, and click the selected messages. ● You can also click the shortcut icons displayed above the message list to

perform the following operations: : Reply to the selected message. : Forward the selected message. : Delete the selected message.

: Re-dial the message sender.

Phonebook You can manage contacts in the phonebook conveniently with the Terminal Management. There are several folders in the “Contacts” interface. A brief introduction as follows: PC Phonebook stores the contact in PC SIM Phonebook stores the contact in SIM card DataCard Phonebook stores the contact in DataCard To display a particular folder, do as follows:

1. Click to display the “Contacts” interface. 2. Choose a specific folder in “All Folders”. Creating and Saving a Contact

1. Click to display the “Contacts” interface. 2. Choose a specific folder in “All Folders”. 3. Click “New” to display the “New” interface. 4. Input relevant information. 5. Click “OK” to save the new contact. Note:

● The folder decide the place where the contact will be saved. ● The number of new contact should not be empty. Otherwise, the saving for the

number will fail. Searching a Contact

1. Click to display search textbox. 2. Input the keywords about the contact into the search textbox. 3. The searching result will be highlighted Note:

● You can enter any part of the contact information to search. Each field of the contact information is supported.

● When you search the contact, the contact list is updated automatically according to the information entered. The matched contacts in the searched group are displayed. When no matching contact is found in the group, no result is displayed.

View contacts To view a contact, do as follows: 1. Chose a folder in “All folders”, select a contact to view

2. Click the selected contact 3. Right-click the selected contact for the following options:

● Edit: re-edit the contact. ● Delete: Delete the contact. ● Message: Send a message to the contact. ● Voice: Dial to the contact. ● Move to: Move the contact to another folder. ● Copy to: Copy the contact to another folder.

Note:

● You can also click the shortcut icons displayed above the contact list to perform the following operations: : Delete the selected contact.

: Send a message to the contact.

: Dial to the contact.

USSD The value-added operation service is provided. Sending a USSD command

1. Click to display the USSD interface. 2. Enter the USSD command by using one of the following options: 3. Choose a command from the existing command list 4. Enter the command directly. 5. Click “Send” to send the USSD command. Add a new USSD command

1. Click to display the USSD interface. 2. Click “New” to display the “New” interface. 3. Input relevant information; 4. Click on “OK” to add a new USSD command. Edit a USSD command

1. Click to display the USSD interface. 2. Choose a command from the existing command list 3. Click “Edit” to display the “Edit” interface. 4. Modify the relevant information; 5. Click on “OK” to save the USSD command. Delete the USSD command

1. Click to display the USSD interface. 2. Choose the USSD command 3. Click “Delete” to delete the selected USSD command Note:

● Please consult you operator for specific USSD command.

Call This function supports voice call function. Have a call

1. Click to display the “call” interface; 2. Enter the calling number by using one of the following options:

● Click numeric keyboard and input the number; ● Click “Phonebook” then select the phone number in the “View Phonebook”

interface. 4. Click “Dial” to make a call. 5. After the dial is out, you can click “Disconnect” to hang up the call Note:

● Drag the scroll bar to adjust the volume ● You can click Clear to undo the most recent input phone number. ● Voice call requires the support of audio card of PC. ● The quality of voice call is related to the hardware of PC.

Answer a call 1. When called, the “Call” interface will automatically pop 2. Click “Receive” to answer the call 3. After the call is connected, you can click Disconnect to end the call. Note:

● After the call is connected the talk time will displayed in the panel of “Call Information”

● You can view the call record in “Call History” View a call record All the call record stored in “Call History”. There are several folders in “Call History”. A brief introduction as follows: Missed Calls: Displays records of recently missed calls. Dialed Calls: displays records of recently dialed calls. Received Calls: displays records of recently received and rejected calls. To view a particular call record, do as follows: Chose a folder in Call History, select a call record to view. Right click the call record you have selected, you can choose the following options:

● Voice: Have a call to the call record number

● Message: Send a message to the call record number. ● PickUp: Save the record as a contact. ● Delete: Delete the selected call log.

Settings 1. Network Configuration Add a APN profile If your APN profile does not appear in the drop-down list of operators, you can follow these steps to add a new APN profile

1. Click to display the setting interface. 2. Click “Network Configuration”. 3. Input relevant information; 4. Click “Apply” to save and apply the APN profile Delete a APN profile

1. Click to display the setting interface. 2. Click “Network Configuration”. 3. Choose a APN profile from the drop-down list of operators. 4. Click “Delete” to delete the selected APN profile. 2. Network Mode Network mode include GSM/GPRS/EDGE and WCDMA/HSDPA/HSUPA . You can freedom to select the network mode.

1. Click to display the setting interface. 2. Click “Network Mode”. 3. Choose a network. 4. Click “Apply” to apply the selected network mode 3. Network Search Network search is designed to automatically search the current network.

1. Click to display the setting interface. 2. Click “Network Search”. 3. Select one of the following:

● Auto Search: Automatically choose a network to register. ● Manual Search: Manually choose a network from the network list to register.

4. Click “Apply” to apply the selected network search mode. 4. PIN Lock Change the PIN lock state

2. Click “PIN Lock”. 3. Choose a PIN lock state. 4. Click “Apply” then input the correct PIN in new interface 5. Click on “Ok” to complete the change Note:

● If you enter the wrong PIN codes for a preset number of times, the SIM/USIM card is locked and you cannot use it until you enter the PUK code.

Modify PIN code

1. Click to display the setting interface. 2. Click “PIN Lock”. 3. Click “Change PIN Code” to display “Change PIN” interface 4. Input the original PIN code and new PIN code twice 5. Click “OK” to complete the modification Note:

● It can be allowed only the PIN enabled.

5. SMS Setting Go to the setting interface, do as follows:

1. Click to display the setting interface. 2. Click “SMS Setting”. Modify the Message Center Number The message center number is read from (U)SIM, it can be modified. 1. Input the message center number 2. Click the button “Apply” 3. In the pop-up dialog box, click “Yes” to complete the modification. Message Delivery Report Select enabled/disable SMS status report, default is disabled. 1. Choose enable or disable from the drop-down list of “GetMsgReport” 2. Click the button “Apply” to complete setting 6. Check Own Number and IMEI

1. Click to display the setting interface. 2. Click “Check Local Number and IMEI”. 3. The information of local phone number and IMEI will be displayed in the

interface 7. Voice Setting

Through the voice setting the voice can be easily managed. Change the voice device, do as follows:

1. Click to display the setting interface. 2. Click “Voice Setting”. 3. Click “Setting”. 4. In the pop-up system page, choose a voice device then click “Apply” to complete

the voice setting. 8. Helps

Click on main interface to switch to help pop-up windows. Under “Help” subject, you can get the product information on functions introduction and usage guide, etc.

FAQ & Answers When you meet the following problems in service, please refer to the following answers to solve it. If the problems still exist, please contact with your suppliers. 1. Q: What should I do if I cannot access the Internet?

A: You may: 1. Check the network signal strength. 2. Check whether you have activated the wireless online service. You can ask the local network operator how to activate it.

3. If the wireless online service is activated, check network settings according to the instructions in "Internet Services".

2. Q:Connected to the Internet, but it cannot open any website page.

A: The reasons are shown below: 1. After connection, there is no data transfer, which resulted that you can’t open

web pages 2. The IE browser got problems. 3. The operating system is infected by virus You may: 1. Check that the APN in the Default Configuration is correct or not. 2. If the IE got problems,upgrade to the new version or reinstall the IE browser.

It cannot open any website page 3. Use the professional anti-virus software to check and kill the virus in the

operating system completely

3. Q:The connection speed and data transfer rates are too slow A: Please check the local network signal strength.

4. Q: Sending an SMS failed A: Please make sure the SMS center number is correct.

5. Q: I cannot receive an SMS A: Please check whether your (U)SIM card’s memory is full.

6. Why does the prompt “Unavailable connection profile” appear? A: Please add a connection profile manually.

7. Q:I couldn’t hear the voice A:Please make sure the voice setting is right.

8. Why can I only save part of the name when adding a new contact? A: The inputted character exceed the maximum length of (U)SIM.

9. Why after I select loop & BSNL south profiles while the username and password field of APN setting is blank? A: A: A: A: You should enter the username and password manually and the input format is "91-xxxxxxxxxx", the " xxxxxxxxxx " means your mobile number.
