312.836.0900 Coco Pazzo offers a seasonal Tuscan menu abundant with both traditional and contemporary dishes. The plentiful display of antipasti and a wood-burning oven are the first things you’ll notice in this exquisite loft space. Chef Jim Kilberg has been focused on Italian cuisine his entire career. From studying under chef Francesco Bernadelli in Italy and working at restaurants in Florence and the Chianti region, to exercising his skill at well-known Italian restaurants in and out of Chicago, Jim has earned a reputation for creating extraordinary Tuscan inspired dishes. Freshness is at the core of the menu -- from tiny wild ramps, pea tendrils, and lamb in the spring to wild boar, house-made duck prosciutto, and wild-caught salmon in the fall— it offers the best of the season. In harmony with the menu, Coco Pazzo has created an award-winning, 200-bottle all-Italian wine list that boasts a unique selection of popular and small production wines.

773.661.9166 At Frog n Snail, Chef Dale Levitski offers a Midwestern Bistro menu, his local take on European classics in a simple but fearless manner. He experiments with flavor combinations -- focusing on layers of flavor, balance, and texture with a special emphasis on taking the familiar and comforting to the next level. Levitski was an unknown chef when Henry Adaniya, who owned the critically acclaimed Trio (the restaurant that launched the careers of Rick Tramonto, Shawn McClain, and Grant Achatz) offered Levitski the opportunity to take over upon Achatz’ departure to open Alinea. In Adaniya, Levitski found a mentor. After 18 months at Trio’s helm, Adaniya chose to close the restaurant (2006) to return to Hawaii. On a whim, Levitski applied to appear on season three of “Top Chef”, and was selected, the first Chicagoan to compete on the popular show. He did very well, finishing as runner up.

312.624.9975 Fine dining redefined: Graham Elliot is Chicago's first “bistronomic” restaurant that brings four-star cuisine into a casual, fun, and whimsical environment. In May of 2008 at the age of 31, Graham opened Graham Elliot, a restaurant that would not only bear his name but become an extension of his passionate personality, embodying his core belief that cooking is an artistic, creative outlet. Since opening its doors the restaurant has been a Chicago “foodie” hotspot, garnering one Michelin star in both 2011 and 2012. In addition to appearing on Iron Chef and two seasons of the popular show "Top Chef Masters," Graham co-stars alongside Gordon Ramsay and Joe Bastianich in the FOX series MasterChef.

312.578.0763 Henri is energetically American but French influenced. Heralded as an "instant classic", Henri offers fine dining without pretention, taking its inspiration, as well as its name, from the pioneering American architect Louis Henri Sullivan, whose work re-imagined Chicago’s turn-of-the-century urban landscape. Under the direction of Executive Chef Dirk Flanigan, Henri’s menu is influenced by the refining principles of classical cuisine. Innovative dishes like lobster Wellington and a short rib burger join traditional favorites such as oysters mignonette, steak tartare, Dover sole and roast chicken. Daily specials highlight the bounty of the season, and a rotating plat du jour offering features favorites such as Sunday’s Coq Au Vin. The carefully curated wine list is almost exclusively biodynamic, while cocktails are both creative and classic. Reminiscent of a European salon, Henri’s decor echoes the building’s turn-of-the-century origins.

312.329.0400 Chicago is well-known for its pizza, but La Madia takes it up a notch. At La Madia, two pleasures - great food and distinctive, delicious wines - come together in a relaxed yet chicly up-tempo setting. After tasting dozens of styles of pizza in the U.S. and Europe, chef/owner Jonathan Fox knew he could put his own spin on this most elemental of dishes. And after testing and re-testing his pizza recipe, he knew he could build a restaurant around it. Named for an Italian cabinet traditionally used to knead dough and store bread, La Madia is an urban restaurant that upholds Italian tradition. The menu is designed for sharing, with flavor-packed, wood-fired pizzas that change seasonally, inventive salads, savory pasta dishes, and select entrée options. Desserts are all made on the premises, in keeping with what's available in the market. The wine list is a wine lover's dream, with more than 75 wines by the glass and hundreds of bottles. In addition to wine, La Madia offers innovative cocktails, many of which are made from spirits infused in-house.

Situated within the grounds of Lincoln Park, at the edge of a pond overlooking Chicago’s magnificent skyline, North Pond can easily claim the loveliest setting in the City. The structure that houses North Pond was originally built in 1912 as a warming shelter for ice skaters, and has been redesigned according to the Arts and Crafts tradition. Chef Bruce Sherman holds true to the Arts and Crafts ideal in his culinary philosophy. Drawing inspiration from the local market, he utilizes exceptional ingredients at the height of their season. Whenever possible, Chef Sherman supports small local farmers and treats their products with respect in his kitchen. The executive chef and co-owner is Art Smith, who has received the culinary profession's highest awards and has cooked for some of the world's most famous celebrities. Chef Art approaches cooking and dining the same way his mother and aunts and grandmother did, in the grand tradition of the South: use the freshest seasonal ingredients, and prepare them lovingly to share with family and friends. In 1997, Smith became the personal, day-to-day chef to Oprah Winfrey, a position that lasted ten years. Smith now coordinates and cooks for the headline-grabbing special events that Ms. Winfrey hosts all around the world.
