My name is Gossip. I have no

respect for justice. I maim without

killing. I break hearts and ruin lives. I am cunning and

malicious and gather strength with age. The more I am

quoted, the more I am believed. My victims are

helpless. They cannot protect themselves against me

because I have no name and no face. To track me down

is impossible. The harder you try, the more elusive I

become. I am nobody’s friend.

Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never the same. I

topple governments and wreck marriages. I ruin

careers and cause sleepless nights, heartaches and

indigestion. I make innocent people cry in their

pillows. Even my name hisses. I am called

GOSSIP. I make headlines and headaches. Before you

repeat a story, ask yourself:

IS IT TRUE?

IS IT HARMLESS?

IS IT NECESSARY?

Senior Snickers Memory Help Max said to his friend, “I bought this great Brain

Games puzzle book to help my memory.”

“Really?” the friend replied, “How’s that going?”

“Well,” Max answered, “I’m sure it would be very

helpful, if only I could remember where I put it!”

A woman came home to find that her husband had

had a car accident in the garage.

“What happened?” she asked. “Did you forget to

open the garage door before you backed out again?”

“Of course not!” there was a long pause before he

admitted in a small voice, “But I did forget to close

the car door.”

Whoops

Why do people put on shamrocks for

St. Patrick’s Day?

Because actual rocks are too heavy!

Why can’t you iron a four-leaf clover?

You should never press your luck!

What do you name a pretend stone?

A sham-rock!

What did the leprechaun do for a living?

He was a short-order cook!

How are you able to tell if a leprechaun is having a

great time?

He’s Dublin over with laughter!

Irish Riddles

A guy calls the airline with a question.

“How long is a flight from New York to

Los Angeles?”

“I’ll see, sir, just a minute,” the clerk replies.

“Wow, that’s fast.” the guy responds as he hangs up.

New York to LA

Billy stops Tom in Cleveland and asks for the

fastest way to Pittsburgh.

Tom says, “Are you on foot or driving a car?”

Billy answers, “A car.”

Tom says, “Then that’s the fastest way.”

Directions

Mr. Smith’s spouse was killed in an accident and the

police have been questioning him.

“Did she say anything else before she died?” asked

the sergeant.

“She spoke with out interruption for roughly 40

years,” stated Mr. Smith.

Last Words

An older gentleman was on the operating table

awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son, a

renowned surgeon, perform the operation. As he

was about to get the anesthesia he asked to speak

to his son.

"Yes, Dad, what is it?" "Don't be nervous, son; do

your best and just remember, if it doesn't go well,

if something happens to me, your mother is going to

come and live with you and your wife...."

Do Your Best

If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get

another chance. Be really nice to your family and

friends; you never know when you might need them

to empty your bedpan!

Thought for the Day

The Annual Valentine’s Sweetheart Dance. The Activity Department did a terrific job in turning the Great Room into a Valentine’s Ballroom.

Residents Myrna and Ron Kellerman were chosen

as King and Queen of the dance.

Entertainment for the Valentine’s Dance was provided by ZPraise, which

attracted quite a crowd.

Resident John Struble enjoys a milkshake.

Resident Dick Baxter has a laugh with Activities Aide, Tiffany Schaefer.

Valentine’s Day balloon bouquets brightened the day for our Residents.

Activity Aide Faye Klingensmith gets a little help passing roses on Valentine’s from two Zem Zem

clowns.

Residents Frances Notz (left) and Helen Martin play Tic Tac Toe at

the Orchard Manor Olympics

Residents participate in ‘Cupid Races’ for Valentine’s

Day.

Resident Pauline Maleski admires the medal she won

at our Olympic Games.

Resident Jean Himes enjoys a spirited game of Air Hockey.

Resident Frank Leadem is a tough opponent in Checkers.

Residents Ann Petrarco (left) and Eddy Cifra try for the elusive center

peg in the Ring Toss

Resident Helen Taggart is pleased with the position of her carrot in the Pin the Nose on the Snowman game.

The Activity Department is planning trips to

Kraynak’s in Hermitage. The first bus will be

Tuesday, March 3rd, the second Tuesday March

20th and a third on Thursday, March 22nd.

Check with Activities for times. Families and

friends are encouraged to meet our bus at the

store, visit the Easterland display and do a little

shopping with their family member or friends.

Trips to Kraynaks Yee Haw! Come celebrate with us! Put

on your duds and scoot this

way. We’re goin’ to celebrate

Resident Anna Reynolds’ 103rd

birthday—western style. The

party/card shower is on March

12th, 2018 between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. In lieu

of gifts, Anna is asking everyone to donate a

non-perishable food item. Anyone bringing a

non-perishable food item will have their name

entered for each item brought to win a gift basket.

Anna is trying to collect at least 103 items, if not

more. All collected goods will be donated to the

Grove City Food Pantry.

So come have a rootin’ tootin’ good time, grab

some grub, dance a little and support a great cause!

All staff, Residents and families are welcome.

Please sign up by March 7 in the Activities

Department if planning on attending.

Plug-In Room Fragrances

Just a reminder to employees, families and

other visitors that per regulations, the electrical

plug-in type of room fresheners/scent dispensers

are not permitted. They present a fire safety issue.

The story is told that

St. Patrick explained the

Trinity of God with the

shamrock. Today we remember St Patrick on March

17, and shamrocks are used for decorations, and

parades of people dressed in green flood the streets of

cities across the nation.

Story is told that St. Patrick when he was a boy,

was taken to Ireland as a slave and he escaped and

return to England where he became a priest. He

returned to Ireland to bring Christianity to the pagans.

Had St Patrick never escaped and found Christ in

his own life there would be no celebration today.

Patrick spent himself for the work of the Lord, and

return to the place he was once a slave, and God put

that burden on the heart of Patrick.

We too are called to listen to God. Psalm 46:10

says, “Be still and know I am God.” We need God in

our lives and His directions He is speaking to each of

us.

We do not have to go to Ireland to reach people

who are not walking close to God, we may be in the

same family, they may be our friends, neighbors and

people who are caring for us, plus the people we see

every day.

Chaplain’s Chatter The Shamrock by Pastor Earl Dykes

Deepest Sympathy Everyone at Orchard Manor extends our heartfelt

thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of the

following Residents who recently passed away.

Mrs. Wilma Allias, 2/1

Mrs. Shirley Overheim, 2/2

Mrs. Dolores Fretts, 2/4

Mrs. Margaret “Norie” Young, 2/4

Mrs. Alberta Wigton, 2/8

Mrs. Marian Osborne, 2/16

Mrs. Isabelle Sweetapple, 2/20

Mrs. Arlene Kneiss, 2/20

Ms. Myra George, 2/26

If God puts someone on your heart to pray for do

it, then talk to them about how you came to know

Jesus as your Savior. No one knows the day or hour

they will die, but in knowing Jesus and the

salvation He has given to us by His death and res-

urrection we can be ready. By knowing Jesus, we

can come to the cross and lay down our sins,

burdens, sickness, doubts. Jesus said, I am the

Resurrection and the light.

As we come and celebrate St. Patrick on March

17th, don’t for get to wear your shamrock, or some

green or the little people will pinch you. In some

towns they turn the rivers green to celebrate St

Patrick’s Day.

Don’t forget to eat some Irish stew, and a

shamrock shake from McDonald’s, and complete

your celebration. St. Patrick brought to Ireland the

gospel of Jesus Christ and the peoples’ hearts were

change. My wife likes to watch Darby O Gill and

the Little People, and the Quiet Man to celebrate St

Patrick’s Day, but we never found a pot of gold at

the end of a rainbow. Happy St Patrick’s Day.

Pastor Earl

We live by faith alone,

Walking softly in the great unknown

Accepting that which cannot be postponed,

Believing that what is yet to be seen

is the substance of our walking dream.

~Unknown
