managers.

$he class )ill be composed of both /theory0 and /practice.0 #ince archival managementis as much an art as a science, it is important to be able to apply the theory to real+life

situations. ?uring class time there usually there )ill be a brief revie) of the tetboo%,

follo)ed by a number of case studies, discussion problems, or eercises.

@eginning )ith ee% ", students must submit a summary of each assigned articles 'not 

the tetboo%. $he summaries should include the authorAs main points and )hy thearticle is important for archival management. $he summary of each article should be

approimately 27 )ords in length.

$he final eamination )ill be distributed t)o )ee%s before the end of the semester. $his)ill give you a chance to as% me >uestions about the eam and still have enough time to

complete it.

I have established a @lac%board site for the course. 1ll assignments must be submitted

electronically though the @lac%board site. I )ill grade the assignments electronically as

)ell. I )ill not accept papers by regular email.

1ll assignments must be typed. =lease use a 32+point font, double+spaced, no s%ipped

lines bet)een paragraphs, and )ith a one+inch margin on all sides. I consider deadlines

to be important. $herefore any assignment that is late )ill be penalized one grade 'an

/10 )ill become a /@D,0 a /@D0 )ill become a /@,0 etc. Eceptions )ill be grantedonly in cases of medical or other emergencies.
