Challenge Warp-Drive is a unique woven solutionused to make Tri-Radial Sails. This woven solutionallows sailmakers to make beautiful white sailsthat previously could only be constructed usinglaminates. Warp-Drive is made using Challenge’sprocess of weaving straight warp yarns in heavyfabrics. The fill yarns take the crimp during theweaving process and encapsulate the warp yarns.

Warp-Drive has the performance of a laminatewith the durability of a woven. Laminate fabricsare prone to mildew which erode the materialbinding the fibers within the film together. Warp-Drive is a polyester based woven construction,which will not mildew. Warp-Drive has been usedon classic yachts with beautiful sails, as well asSir Robin Knox Johnson’s Open 60 Grey Powerduring the Route de Rhum Race.
