Private Airports:-Airport under this category are independently owned, with

most welcoming the visiting pilot.

are only airports you can use for your first and last stop in a country.

Do I need to depart from a designated port of Entry?-No, a pilot do not need to depart from a designated port.

Do I need to file an International Flight Plan?-Yes, a flight plan is required.

Are firearms allow in The Bahamas?- Firearms should be registered with US Customs prior to

departure.

Does my aircraft need large # numbers? -Yes, all aircrafts must have 12” “N” Numbers

Landing ProceduresLanding Procedures

Controlled Airports:- Nassau and Grand Bahama International are controlled

airports, and you are advised to contact approach control or tower approximately 25nm out for landing instructions.

Uncontrolled Airports:- When approaching airports with no control facilities, you

are required to announce: Aircraft, Identification, Location and Intentions over Unicom frequency 122.8.

Pass over airport at 1,000’ MSL and enter LEFT traffic pattern. All landing and takeoffs at uncontrolled field should be into the wind.

A full pilot briefing will be given at the airport of departure by your Bahamas lead pilot . We select a FBO along the east coast where your Bahamas lead will answer any questions you may have . Then your Bahamas lead pilot will walk you through all paperwork required to enter The Islands Of The Bahamas.

Upon arrival In The Islands Of The Bahamas, our Tourism escort assist you with Bahamas Customs clearance. On receipt of your registration fee a complete itinerary will be sent to you.
