HW and Expectations

• HW will be listed on class website.• Students should be reading at least

30 minutes each night in their independent reading books.

• Students will always need an independent reading book, and a “book on deck.”

• Monitor reading and help students find the best place/time to read with minimal distractions.

• Discuss reading with students.

Grammar

A brushstroke is based on the premise that a writer is much like an artist who "paints" images, using grammatical structures as tools.

For example, writers use adjectives to paint more details as they write.

The student, determined and intrepid, marched bravely into his new school.

We always welcome new books. If you have age-appropriate books that you would like to clean out, we’d be happy to add them to our classroom library.
