Introduction

Piles need appropriate shoe to protect themselves from damages.

When piles are driven wholly in soft clay soil, flat shoe need be provided, e.g. RC pile.

The end of initial piles are usually cast in the shape of a blunt point (flat shoe).

Pointed pile shoe (Jenis 1) Flat pile shoe (Jenis 2) Pointed M.S. plate pile shoe (Jenis 3) Pointed C.I. pile shoe (Jenis 4) Oslo pointed pile shoe (Jenis 5)

Pointed Pile Shoe For piles driven

through soft to moderately hard (SPT ≤ 30) strata & pile length > 24m or slenderness ratio (L/D) > 80.

Flat Pile Shoe

For piles driven through soft to moderately hard (SPT ≤ 30) strata & pile length < 24m or slenderness ratio (L/D) < 80m.

Pointed M. S. Plate Pile Shoe For piles driven

through very dense or very hard strata (SPT > 30) and founded on very dense sand/ gravel.

Pointed C. I. Pile Shoe

For piles driven through very dense or very hard strata (SPT > 30) with hard debris or boulders

For piles to be founded on highly weathered & fractures rock.

Oslo Pointed Pile Shoe

For piles to be driven in to a sloping bedrock surface or limestone area.
