APAC RMPG - Background
• Establishment
o June 2012
• Purpose o increase the engagement of the APAC community in global and regional market
practice and standards discussion o local relay for SMPG on queries related to APAC market practices o support the creation of National Market Practice Groups (NMPG) in as many
APAC countries as possible and provide assistance to the existing ones
• Organisation o light structure facilitated by SWIFT Standards Singapore (no Chair or Vice-Chair) o composed of APAC NMPGs representatives, regional and global players, other
APAC regional industry groups and the 2 SMPG APAC Regional Directors o one physical meeting / year, bi-monthly conference calls o facilitate exchange of information and network building in all APAC countries
• Bi-monthly calls
• APAC By-Laws (in APAC RMPG folder on www.smpg.info)
• Two global Market Practices (IPO, DR) from APAC published on www.smpg.info.
• Thailand Market Practice work in progress – Asset Conversion

• NMPGs (this list has been growing..):
SG: Active locally and in international forums. NMPG works closely with local SMI. More plans for the SG Funds WG.
HK: Active discussions and work for HK CA WG and HK Treasury WG.
JP: Group is active. Members are busy preparing for T+1 settlement cycle for JGBs. Japanese equities settlement cycle is moving to T+2.
KR: CA WG published additional CA events in 2016. Last meeting held in October 2017.
AU: Group is active for S&R, CA also discussed in the same group. ASX / Austraclear is regularly sharing information with the group.
CN: Group is active locally and has reviewed the CN CA MP templates. Discussion meetings planned in November 2017.
TW: TW RHTS MP documents have been completed and published on SMPG website. Next meeting is planned in early December.
VN: Group is active locally and regionally. Last NMPG meeting held in September 2017.
PH: Group is active locally and regionally. Last NMPG meeting held on 10 October 2017.
APAC RMPG – Progresses
• NMPGs (continued):
IN: Local market players are busy with Go Local India initiatives.
MY: NMPG launched in May 2013 and group is stabilised. S & R MP published.
TH: Discussions to support turnaround trades and fail management reporting. There are plans for S&R and CA MP in 2018.
ID: Ongoing discussions to create NMPG. Target NMPG kick-off meeting in 2018.

o Any APAC market issues for discussions? Any MP related to automation issue which is confronted by APAC markets? National IDs, ID markets, status of LEI adoption, market structure
- Regulatory reporting
- Any forum with regulators? – tie in with RMPG? Get participation of regulators in RMPG meetings. What is driving regulations in the region?
o Priorities in APAC region
o Community Engagement for APAC NMPGs at regional and global level (La Hulpe) – send sample agenda
