PRAYER OF THE DAY

Dear Jesus, Immanuel, God with us, as we move into this new year, may the words and thoughts of this poem guide us as we Together Arise Shine, to your glory and according to your purpose: "When the song of the angels is stilled, when the star in the sky is gone, when the kings and princes are home, when the shepherds are back with the flocks, then may the real work of Christmas begin for us: to find the lost, to heal those broken in spirit, to feed the hungry, to release the oppressed, to rebuild the nations, to bring peace among all peoples, to make a little music with the heart… And to radiate the Light of Christ, every day, in every way, in all that we do and in all that we say.” Amen.

donations? Many employers have a program to match your charitable donations. Thank you to our Calvary members and friends who already take advantage of this option. We encourage you to check with YOUR employer to see what programs they offer. Staff Contact: Deborah Robitaille

Property Team Our Property Team is made up of Calvary staff and volunteers who do much of the work at all three campuses and help keep within our maintenance spending plan. This team saves us thousands of dollars in labor each year. We will be scheduling quarterly meetings for the property team to plan for building maintenance, landscaping, cleaning/organizing projects and other tasks. If you are already on the property team look for an email soon with a meeting time. If you would like to be part of the property team, please let us know. During the course of the year the team receives emails requesting help with projects as they arise. They can then accept or decline based on their own availability and skills or interests. Worship Assistants

Interested in serving at worship as a greeter, usher, Communion assistant, bookstore volunteer, or on the White Lake hospitality team? We would love to talk to you. You can serve once, twice or as many Sundays per month as fits your schedule. Training is provided. Staff Contact: Deborah Robitaille.

2016 Adult Mission Trip Planning Team - EXTEND God's Grace

There are many times in our lives when God calls us to go somewhere or do something. God wants us to step out in faith into a situation that seems extremely challenging and maybe even a bit ridiculous so he can amaze us with what he does. Much of the time we miss out on these exciting opportunities because we are not ready or hesitant or even unwilling to move--or let God move through us. When God asks us to move, he never asks us to go alone. God promises to go with us--we just have to be willing and ready to step up and go. IF you feel God is calling you to EXTEND his love and reach out to help those in need, and to make an impact in a community, than I would like to ask you to pray fully consider joining our NEW Adult Mission Trip Planning Team.

We are looking for folks with a passion for outreach, as well as planning and organization skills, to help identify some potential ministry sites where our congregation could serve and hopefully develop long-term relationships. This team will help design the mission trip and coordinate dates with the host including lodging, transportation and specific places and opportunities to serve.

Even if you are unable to actually participate in the mission trip you can still be part of the planning team. And I am asking each person at Calvary for their prayers for wisdom in planning. Consider how God is calling you to be a part of this awesome opportunity Staff Contact: Carl Bloom, Mission and Outreach [email protected]

We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us. (Romans 12:6)

Offerings If you have any changes in your 2016 EFT offerings, please let us know. Vance-Thrivent EFT forms are available online or at the church office. Online giving can be managed at our website. Staff Contact: Deborah Robitaille

Men’s Ministry Growth Group

Coming in 2016 Today, more than ever, the world needs godly men. Men who will step up and courageously lead at home, at church, at work, and in their communities. That’s the message of the men’s ministry at Calvary. In a world where too many men are shrinking back, this men’s group ministry gives men vision and tools to live godly lives. While this may not transform you exactly like the phone booth did for Clark Kent and Superman, you can become the hero God has made you to be filled with the power and goodness of the Holy Spirit.

We will accomplish this through the word of God, engaging stories, expert teaching, humorous vignettes, and personal insights. This Growth Group will include discussion and individual follow-up exercises, so men of every age will learn action tools for gospel-centered living to empower them to be true heroes in their families and communities.

Men of all ages, please join us in shaping this relevant ministry that will help you , draw to God through the Word. This Wednesday night study will will be part of the Winter Semester of Growth Groups at the Feast, and it will help you surrender your lives to Christ as your Savior and Master, develop a servanthood attitude modeled after Jesus and pursue vital trusting relationships with other Christian men understanding that we need brothers to help us keep our Christian commitments.
