Entity of CS core networkEntity of CS core network

For the ATM and IP transport, there is a strict separation

between the call control level and the bearer control level.

The MSC server shall provide the call control and mobility

management functions

The media gateway shall provide the bearer control and

transmission resource functions. The media gateway shall

contain the stream manipulating functions.

ContextContext

A Context is an association between a collection of

Terminations.

The Context describes the topology (who hears/sees

whom) and the media mixing and/or switching parameters

if more than two Terminations are involved in the

association.

Context ID represents one context

Termination Termination

Termination is a logic entity of MGW, which can receive

and send media or control stream.

Termination can be described into one time slot , IP

address + port number or VPI/VCI

MOVE : move a termination into another context

AUDITVALUE : returns the current values of properties,

events, signals and statistics associated with Terminations.

AUDITCAPABILITIES: return the possible values of

capability of terminations

Modifying SCTP Checksum Algorithm (Optional)

There are two SCTP checksum algorithms supported in

MSOFTX3000: ADLER32 and CRC32.

Command: SET SCTPPARA

Setting Tone Playing Capability of MGW (Optional)

The command defines the language and cycle times of all tone

clip files played in MGW.

During system initialization, the default setting is loaded that

language is English and cycle number is 2.

Command: SET TONECFG
