1. Set 1.5 - 2 hours of study time per evening from Sunday to Thursday
2. No homework: WRONG!! There are always things to work on academically
3. The biggest way to improve reading is to Read for 30 minutes per day
4. Print out 5th grade math concept worksheets and have them do it

Eligibility
• 2.0 Grade Point Average with no more than one “E” (failure)
• Importance of Staying Eligible
• Calculating Your GPA– A=4 points

Bullying
This definition includes three important components:
1. Bullying is aggressive behavior that involves unwanted, negative actions.
2. Bullying involves a pattern of behavior repeated over time.
3. Bullying involves an imbalance of power or strength.
A person is bullied when he or she is exposed, repeatedly and over time, to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons, and he or she has difficulty defending himself or herself.

Who is going?
Who is going? All MCPS 6th graders, parent chaperones, 6th
grade teachers, some 7th and 8th grade teachers, 6th grade administrator,
and the on-site coordinator.

Volunteer to Chaperone!
We always need parent chaperones,
especially men. Please consider coming along to
spend a couple of fun days out in the
world with your child.
● Attend the parent meeting at your school.
● Volunteer to chaperone for the day or overnight. (All chaperones will need to be fingerprinted for MCPS and complete the Child Abuse and Neglect training.)
● Help your child pack.● Ask your school organizer if they need
any help.
