‘67 – An “All Canadian Music Review”
’67 was formed in 2016 to prepare for Canada’s Sesquicentennial. The band has
played at Toronto’s “Hard Rock Café”, “Mel Lastman Square” and “The Rockpile”. They
have performed for street festivals in Unionville, Hamilton and at The Celtic Island
Festival on Centre Island. They are a favourite act at “The Vinyl Sessions” held in various venues around The Big Smoke. Band members were playing in Ottawa on July 1st, 2017 for “Canada Day 150” celebrations.
Benny Sanders – Drums/Guitar/Lead Vocals Benny has been performing in bands since he was a teen, playing everything from Country & Western to Punk over the years. ‘67 has been a concept that was first in his mind in 2006 as he has always featured Canadian music in each of his bands. He has toured in Germany, the USA and to the East Coast including three musical excursions . to Newfoundland/ Labrador. He has been the subject of five Canadian reality shows. Really! Benny plays 1979 Ludwig drums with Sabian and Zildjian cymbals, and a 1979 Les Paul Standard guitar or a 1982 Fender Stratocaster.
Steven Lindsay Jones – Bass/Guitar/Vocals
Steven was born in Swindon, England. He has been playing music since he was 13 years old. His major instrument is the bass guitar. For the Alliance Pictures film “Expect No Mercy”, he co-wrote the title song. In 1995, the video for his tune was released and featured on Much Music.
Besides Benny, Steven is the longest standing member of ‘67. He began on rhythm guitar/keys. When Blair joined, he took over full-time bass duties.
Blair Krueger – Keyboardist/Guitarist/Vocals
Blair is a multi-instrumentalist, well-versed in keyboards, guitars and woodwinds. Throughout his many years of experience, he has performed and toured venues in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Blair charts most of the musical arrangements for ‘67..
Mario Placidi – Lead Guitar/Bass
Mario has played in bands for over four decades and has toured Canada as well as the USA. He’s played in “The White” (internationally recognized as THE Led Zeppelin tribute band), and with guitar legend Lee Van Leer. Mario has been a sought after studio musician for many years.
