1 Introduction
1 IntroductionOrtho ID is a desk top equipment for printing patient data and exposure datareceived from the OP100 on the x-ray film. A window type film cassette isused. The Ortho ID can be used with all OP100 and OC100 models. Someolder models require upgrading (option code 61260). This manual covers thesoftware features of the V 1.01 or higher.

2.2 Change setup parameter and exit1 To change the Setup parameter, select by pressing the “OK”.

2.3 Changing parameters
2.3.1 Language
The Ortho ID language version A can display the dialogues in English,French, German, Italian and Spanish. English, Finnish, Swedish are availablewith the language version B.
1 ROM A: Select the language versionmenu fromthe Setup menu. The cur-rent language version is displayed.“ENGLISH” is displayed, if no lan-guage version has been set before.
2 Press “OK” to enter. The selection eg.“ENGLISH” is blinking. Use “← “and “→“ keys to select other dialoguelanguages.

3 ROM B: Select the language versionmenu fromthe Setup menu. Thecurrent language version isdisplayed.“ENGLISH” is displayed, if nolanguageversion has been set before.
4 Press “OK” to store any changes into the memory.
5 Press “MENU” key anytime to exit from the Setup.
2.3.2 Date format
1 While in the Normal display pressSHIFT and menu.
2 Select the date format from the Setupmenu. Press “OK”.
3 The date format will be displayed andit is blinking. The initial setting is“YYMMDD”, where “YY” is theyear, “MM” the month and “DD” theday of the month.
NOTEThe date is not set here. Refer to the section DATE AND TIME SETTING.
4 Press “OK” or “MENU” to exit with this setting.
5 To select a different date format press“→“. “MMDDYY” will be displayedand it is blinking.
6 Press “OK” to select this format andexit for setup or
7 Press “→“. “DDMMYY” will bedisplayed and it is blinking.
8 Press “OK” to select this format andexit from Setup.
9 Press “→“. “MM/DD/YY” will bedisplayed and it is blinking.
10 Press “OK” to select this format andexit from Setup.

2.3.3 Date and time setting
1 While in the Normal display pressSHIFT and menu.
2 Select the date and time setting fromthe Setup menu. Press “OK”.
3 Enter the date and time, as they willbe displayed.The date format will beas programmed and the time isdisplayed.
4 Press “OK” to select the date and time setting. Numbers under the datesetting will blink.Enter a new date eg. “940920” in the date formatabove. First number entered will clear the previous date. Press “OK”.
NOTE
If you press “OK” before you have entered all six numbers, the old date willbe selected. Start again.
5 Numbers under the time setting willblink. Enter a new time eg. “112200”in the date format above. First numberentered will clear the previous time.
NOTE
The clock uses 24 hours format, i.e. 2:30 p.m. is 143000 etc.
6 Press “OK”. The Date and timesetting menu is displayed again. Thetime is not shown in normal use, it isonly used for the calendar.
NOTEA beep is heard and the data field will keep blinking if a wrong date or timeentered. Enter the correct date or time and press “OK”.
7 Press “MENU” to exit from theSetup.

2.3.4 Clinic data
For each patient there is a choice of printing the name of the dental clinic orthe dentist. The difference is in the patient data entry, where permanent dentalclinic will be printed for every patient.
1 Select clinic data from the Setup menu. If the “clinic data” has been setbefore, it will be displayed on the last row.
2 Press “OK”. First dentist, if entered, isdisplayed. The cursor blinks on thelast row.
3 Edit this name by typing the newname (max. 13 characters) then press“OK”. Press CLEAR to remove thedentist name and type a new one.
4 Select next dentist by pressing first“OK”, then “ →“ key once or more.Other dentists are displayed.
5 Repeat the steps to enter other dentist names, up to ten names.
NOTEIf the date format is “MM/DD/YY”, only first 12 characters of the dentistname are displayed.
6 Press the “MENU” key to exit the Setup.
2.3.5 Print time setting
1 Select the print time from the Setupmenu. The preset print time, eg. 2.0 s,will be displayed.
2 Press “OK”. The cursor shows anumber and blinks in the last row.
3 Use “←“ and “→“ keys to select theprint time, eg. “3.2”, from the table ofpreset times: 0.10 - 0.12 - 0.16 - 0.20 -0.32 - 0.40 - 0.50 - 0.64 - 0.80 - 1.00 -1.20 - 1.60 - 2.00 - 2.50 - 3.20 -4.00 - 5.00 - 6.40.

4 Press “OK”. The Print time menu andthe new print time are displayed.
5 Review another setting or press“MENU” key to exit the Setup.
2.3.6 Service mode
The Service mode is for adjusting the display contrast and the printingcontrast of the unit and to test the OP100 serial interface. The dialoguelanguage is English.
PRINTING CONTRAST
1 Select the Service mode from theSetup. Press “OK”.
2 Press “→“ or “←“ until the displayshows PRINTING CONTRAST: anda number. Press “OK”.
3 Adjust the printing display contrast.Number on the last row will changefrom 0 to 7 and the printing displaycontrast changes.
The effect of this adjustment is seen withthe processed film.
NOTE “0” is recommended for the printing display contrast.
4 Return to the Service mode selectionby pressing the “MENU” key. Press“MENU” again to exit the Setup.
DISPLAY CONTRAST
5 Select the Service mode from theSetup. Press “OK”.
6 Press keys “→ “ or “← “ until thedisplay shows DISPLAY CONTRASTand a number. Press “OK”.

7 Adjust the display contrast. Numberon the last row will change from 0 to 7and the display contrast changes.
NOTE “5” or 6” is recommended for the display contrast.
8 Return to the Service mode selectionby pressing the “MENU” key. Press“MENU” again to exit the Setup.
DATA TRANSFER TEST
This test program is for testing that the Ortho ID receives data from theOP100.
9 Select the Service mode from theSetup. Press “OK”.
10 Press the key “↑“ or “↓“ until thedisplay shows DATA TRANSFER.Press “OK”.
11 Press “OK” or make the exposure.Ortho ID echoe all data received fromthe serial link on the display. Ifmiscellaneous data is on the display,the OP100 data transfer is ok.
The display may be frozen with the “Space” key and the previous datacan be scrolled with the “↑ “ and “↓“ keys.
12 Return to the Service mode selection by pressing the “MENU” key.Press “MENU” again to exit the Setup.

3 OP100 error message displayIn the OP100 error situation, a message is displayed on the control panel. Thesame information is also sent to the Ortho ID, where it is displayed withexplanations in selected language.
3.1 Error messages
Each error is displayed in multiple screens, each screen having four rows by20 characters, where the first screen describes the nature of the error.
1 The first row in every screen has theerror codeand “→ “ mark indicatingthat there is more information for cor-rective actions.
2 Press “→“ to have more information.Second, and sometimes the thirdscreen is displayed.

3 Pressing “→“ with the last display of information clears the screen. Theerror message is also cleared when the corrective action with the OP100is done. The Normal display is shown.
NOTE
Error code Ch 9 rEO does not have its message on the Ortho ID softwareversions 1.00 and 1.01. Only the beep is heard.
