Genius Olympiad The Exceptional Genius Award will be presented to three recognized projects along with an opportunity to compete in GENIUS Olympiad, an international high school project competition focusing on environmental issues. Students in grades 8-12 will be eligible to compete by submitting a project which aims to raise awareness of sustainability problems in our world among high school students. The 2017 GENIUS Olympiad will be held June 12-17 in Oswego, New York. Student and supervisor (teacher or parent) room and board expenses will be covered by GENIUS Olympiad. BROADCOM MASTERS The Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars) is a competition for 6-8th grade students who participate in an SSP-affiliated fair. As a nominee, students are eligible to register and complete an on-line application to compete nationally for valuable prizes and awards. From these entrants, the top 300 Semifinalists will be announced on September 5, 2018. Thirty of the 300 semifinalists will be named finalists on September 19, 2018 and will participate in the finals and win an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC to compete in Finalist Week from October 18 – 24, 2018.

TOP EIGHTH GRADE STUDENT The top 8th grade student will attend the 69th International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, PA May 13-18, 2018 as an observer and as part of the official party from the Southeast Missouri Regional Science Fair. RECIPIENT: DESTINY MEYER, Advance R-IV

DR. E. LAWRENCE BAHN MEMORIAL FUND will be awarded to a student who is participating in the current Regional Science Fair and is a senior from an approved public, parochial, or private school within the boundaries of the Southeast Missouri Regional Science Fair. The student must declare his/her sincere intention of enrolling as a full-time student at Southeast Missouri State University. The recipient will be chosen by satisfying the above criteria and accumulating points in the Science Fairs.
