Root barrier is important to be applied on trees that near to a drain.

When a tree is getting bigger, the tree roots in the soil will create a pressure and then push the drain or caused the wall to tilt over.

Overtime, a gap or opening may occur and this will create another problems; root penetrations, soil lost, continuous cracking, etc.

In some cases, a walkway that used tiles, pebble stone, or even concrete slab may face problem from roots.

This will not just create a hideous looks to a landscape area but also dangerous for cyclist and may cause tripping to joggers.

First, measurement. Take note that the depth and perimeter subject to:

i. Structure, pavement or road distance

ii. Root growth behavior

iii. Size of the root ball

RooteX is easy to cut by using a cutter. It will be safer for two persons to handle this step.

Remember when you measure the perimeter of the hole, please extend your measurement about 300-400mm to overlap the RooteX.

300mm

Use the metal clip that we supply together with RooteX to hold the overlapped RooteX. Use two clips: One at the bottom and another on top.

And do not forget to remove the plastic wrappings from the trees to allow air and water circulation

Then, insert the tree carefully. Make sure there are no sharp tools left inside the hole.

After that, fill in the void with soil and apply some more fertilizer on top of the ground.

After some period of time, what you can observe is the RooteX may appear on the surface because of the settlement or the consolidation process. Well, it’s easy just put more soil to cover it up.
