    Procedure: The teacher will tell students the ollowing inormation:

    /Toda) we are going to use our mental images. - mental image is

    created as a picture in )our mind. Mental images help us engage in the

    text in wa)s that ma+e it personal and memora"le. Toda) I0m going to

    read the "oo+ Toda) ,as a Terri"le Da) aloud to )ou. -s I read I will

    tell )ou a"out m) mental images. I will draw pictures o m) mental

    images on the "oard.1 Students will listen and watch as the teacher

    demonstrates mental images. -ter completing the "oo+ students and

    teacher will discuss the mental images created.

    The teacher will then tell students: /I0m going to read )ou another "oo+

    and let )ou practice using )our mental images. I will assist )ou as

    needed.1 Teacher reads The %apping &ouse2 students draw their

    mental images on the "oard.

    -ssessment: Students will "e assisted as necessar). Mental images on

    Paper to draw on

    Procedure: Students will listen to three poems read aloud to them.

    Students will practice drawing mental images o the poems on the "oard.

    Poems will "e read aloud se$eral times to help students manage their

    mental image. Teacher will then read the all poem to students se$eral

    times. Students will draw a mental image to go with the poem

    independentl).

    -ssessment: Students0 mental images should relate to the poems that

    ha$e "een read aloud.

    Procedure: Teacher explains to students that /Mental Images can
