They were married on June 14, 1959, in the First United Methodist Church, Maquoketa, by the Rev. Milton Nothdurft. Janice is the daughter of the late Cecil and Bertha Nissen. Roy is the son of the late Emil and Daisy Schnoor. Roy served time in the Army from 1955-57 then came home to farming full time and has since retired. Janice was a fulltime farm housewife and also worked from 1987-99 at Maquoketa Community Schools as a lunch room cook. Together they have four daughters, Jolene Ahrendsen and husband Bruce of Fayetteville, AR; Jill Roberg and husband Paul of Manchester; Jayne Vest and husband Kelly of Newton; Susan Sheets and husband Mark of Maquoketa. They have eight grand- children: Derek Roberg and wife Julie of Des Moines; Blake Ahrendsen and wife Olivia of Galveston, TX; Hannah Roberg and her fian- cé Jacyn Goebel of Waterloo; Brianna Keninger and hus- band Dustin of Mason City; Connor Ahrendsen of St. Louis, MO; Benton Vest of Ankeny; Emmett Sheets and Elizabeth Sheets, both of Maquoketa. ITS REUNION T IME The regular meeting of the Monmouth Co-Ed 4-H Club was held at Jackson County Regional Health Center on May 5. The meeting was called to order by Brett Schoenherr at 1:35 p.m. Gracie Franzen led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was name some- thing that makes you grouchy. Callie Petersen gave the secretary’s report. Casey Bock made a motion to pass the secretary’ report; Anna Bartels seconded the motion. Lane Stender gave the treasurer’s report. Maranda Wood made a motion to pass the treasurer’s report, Ava Franzen seconded the motion. There were no bills or income presented. Committee reports includ- ed share the fun of Mia, Brett, Anna, and Jayde. Maranda presented on club T-shirts, and Wyatt Christiansen made a motion to have the club pay for the screen printing on the T-shirts; Elodie Hutchins seconded the motion. Old business, YQCA is May 5 or June 5, need to attend or take it online if you are showing any livestock or animals. Pay attention to animal ID deadlines (May 15), and project deadlines in your InView. Junior 4-H camp sign-up deadline is May 15 as well. New business, commu- nity service opportunities include serving food at the Lost Nation fire department Mother’s Day dinner on May 12 and helping at the Becker Benefit June 29. The club encourages you to fill out the club survey that was emailed to you. Fair schedule and registration deadlines were presented and we discussed the treasurer transition that the state auditor has decided. The 4-H Pledge was led by Madison Gilroy. There were two presen- tations presented, Elodie Hutchins presented on Galaxy Jars and Mia Ruley on chocolate chip banana bars. The next meeting will be held on June 2. 4-H NEWS The Seventh Annual Iowa Women’s Landowner Conference will be held June 20, in Brooklyn, Iowa. This conference is brought to you by the Iowa County Women Land and Legacy (WLL) and Iowa Land Sales & Farm Management. The conference is open to everyone, but is specifical- ly tailored to women. Since women own or co-own over half of Iowa’s farmland, they have the real potential and ability to transform Iowa’s landscape and farm commu- nities in significant and pos- itive ways. This year’s session will cover Farm Stress & Solutions. “Distress or De-Stress,” it’s your call. This year’s agenda includes Lesley Kelly, a Canadian Farmer/Blogger and co-founder of the “Do More Foundation.” Lesley is a wife, mother, farmer, mar- keter and huge advocate for the mental health of farmers. Ryan Drollette, Farm Management Specialist with ISU extension and out- reach, will lead a session on Leasing and Communication strategies. Dr. Diane Rohlman, Director of Ag Safety & Health at the University of Iowa, will round out the morning, discussing how to identify and cope with farm stress. The afternoon sessions will include Dr. Mike Rosmann, farmer and Psychologist. Dr. Rosmann will present on stress management strategies in today’s farm economy while highlighting real life scenarios and outcomes he has witnessed. Sue Martin, guest com- mentator on Market to Market and President of Ag and Investment Services Inc, will lead a discussion enti- tled “Learning from the past to lead us into the future.” The conference will be held on Thursday, June 20, at the Michael J. Manatt Community Center in Brooklyn, Iowa. The conference fee is $30 ($35 if you pay at the door). Breakfast, snacks, lunch, handouts and door prizes are all included. Family News

Roy and Janice Schnoor of Maquoketa will celebrate 60 years of marriage on June 14, 2019.

They were married on June 14, 1959, in the First United Methodist Church, Maquoketa, by the Rev. Milton Nothdurft.

Janice is the daughter of the late Cecil and Bertha Nissen.

Roy is the son of the late Emil and Daisy Schnoor.

Roy served time in the Army from 1955-57 then came home to farming full time and has since retired.
