Voice – makes writing your own using personal tone and flair. Also considers the audience so that the tone is appropriate. Maintains a consistent POV.

Word Choice – uses imagery and verbs that are powerful and energetic. Also words are used accurately.

Sentence Fluency – natural, flowing sentence structure. Sentences are clear, well-constructed, and complete. Varies sentence style and length.

Conventions - no distracting errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, or usage. Uses consistent verb tense.

Presentation – uses proper MLA heading, margins, spacing. Contains an original title.
