We recommend that students take both World History AND World Geography. In addition to 4 credits in each core area, colleges also want to see students take lab sciences. Lab sciences include the following: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and IPC All students must take and pass the following state End of Course Exams: English 1, English II, Algebra I, Biology I, U.S. History Distinguished Achievement: Students must earn Distinguished Level of Achievement in order to be eligible for Top 10% Automatic Admission to institu- tions of higher education. · 4 credits in math, including Algebra II · 4 credits in science · Completion of an Endorsement Performance Acknowledgements: Students may earn “Performance Acknowledgements” on their diploma by achieving any of the following: · At least 12 college hours with a grade of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale · Earn an associate degree in high school · Bilingualism/Biliteracy · 3 or better on AP Exam/4 or better on IB Exam · Outstanding performance on PSAT, ACT, or SAT · Earn a nationally or internationally recognized business or industry certification or license Rockwall High School Endorsements & Pathways Please visit our Academic Planning Guide located on the RISD website for detailed course information.
