Ask her to review raps in the show. How is rap used to convey a message? How can she convey a message using her rap?

RRecord your child practicing her rap. She will enjoy hearing her voice, and she can practice saying the words and building a strong rhythm.

1. To start the rap, ask your child to choose a word ending suchas –ell, -ed, -ink, or –at. Have her try to think of as manyrhyming words as she can for her word ending. She shouldcome up with at least 10 words.

Help your child create sentences using these words.

AAsk her to say the sentences out loud to create a rhythm. She can clap her hands, stamp her feet, or jump rope to establish a rhythm.

Encourage her to practice and play with the words to turn it into a rap.
