Waterwrap ® February – April 2020 Why we need water restrictions We’re experiencing one of the worst droughts on record. This means that water restrictions are severe and continue to be in place. With our dam levels still low and ongoing threats of bushfires across Greater Sydney, it’s essential we all follow the restrictions to ensure we have enough water in the future. Every day we’re seeing more and more people joining the race to save water and making more conscious decisions about their water use. Thank you for all your efforts to save water! Please note that using drinking water for firefighting, testing and related activities is not restricted. You can use any available water source to fight housefires or bushfires that threaten property and do whatever is necessary to prepare your property if it is under imminent threat from bushfires. Don’t forget that on-the-spot fines of $220 apply. If you see someone deliberately misusing water, you can make a report about water restrictions. Waterwrap®February – April 2020

Why we need water restrictions We’re experiencing one of the worst droughts on record.

Small changes matter

We’ve been encouraging Sydneysiders to commit to small changes in how they use water at home that can help save water when in drought. Visiting shopping centres and community events across Greater Sydney, our pop up stand The Small Change Shop has been engaging with community members of all ages, trading popcorn for water-saving pledges. From committing to 4-minute showers and using the half flush on the toilet to turning off the tap when brushing your teeth or doing full loads of washing, this activity has focused on showing there are many ways to save water and our actions can have a positive impact on the drought.

Are you feeling the pinch?Everyone needs essential water services, but we know that unforeseen events can make it hard to pay your bill. That’s why we have a range of ways to help, from short-term extensions to long-term case management. We won’t leave you high and dry.

Some of our assistance options:

• Flexible payment terms, such as extending your due date or setting up a regular payment plan.

• Centrepay payments made straight to your Sydney Water account.

• Pension rebates if you have an eligible pension concession card.

• Personalised support for longer-term payment difficulties, including payment assistance for eligible customers.

• Help with emergency or essential plumbing repairs. No matter the reason, if you’re unable to pay your bill on time, call us on 13 20 92 or visit sydneywater.com.au/helpwithyourbill to find out how we can help.

Go paperless!Would you rather get an electronic bill instead of a paper one? Join more than 400,000 customers who’ve already switched to eBill.

Why should you switch?

It’s fasterIt’s paperless so you won’t have to wait for your bill to be delivered by mail. This means you’ll have more time between when you receive the bill and the due date.

It’s mobileIf you’re on the go, you can view your bill from a phone or tablet as long as you have email access. You can pay your bill from your device too.

It’s easyIf you’d like to see all your bills in one place, eBill is for you. It’s great for tax time – especially if you own more than one property.
