The Tribe perviously beat the Cork U21s in the 2011 semi, going on to lift the All-Ireland. Cork selector Brian Herlihy believes there will be little between the sides. “In a final anything can happen. Galway play a nice brand of football and I think the cup is there for the taking for either team. “Our guys had shown a bit of grit all year and they need to do that again against Galway. Galway were 3/1 against Kildare. Ridiculous odds.” Herlihy, Cleary, Mi- chael Linehan and Mick O’Loughlin have been in- volved at U21 level since 2004, while Donal Mc- Carthy joined as selector in ’08 after former man- ager Tony Leahy’s depar- ture. In that 10 year period Cork have captured eight Munster titles and two All-Irelands, while this will their fourth final. Dohenys clubman Her- lihy feels this group of Cork players have the right attitude to be crowned champions. “They’ve shown great resilience, and one thing is that different fellas perform better on any given day. Alan Cadogan was man of the match against Tipperary and now Mark Sugrue.” Cork’s win over Cavan means a number of changes to the first round of the club section of the SFC, with the ma- jority of matches post- poned until May 11-12.
