Dear Sorors, Amicae, Zeta Male Network and Guests of the Atlantic Region:

It is my esteemed pleasure to invite each of you to our 2013 Atlantic Regional Leadership Conference (ARLC). On October 9th through October 13th we will cascade a sea of blue and white in Western New York as we convene at the Adam’s Mark Hotel and Conference Center in Buffalo. We will become immersed in workshops

that educate us so that we may go forth and raise the awareness of our community. We will be absorbed in han-dling the business of Zeta. And we will make history as we expand our borders.

Come experience the beauty of Buffalo in autumn and the wonder that is Niagara Falls. Our schedule is packed with enriching and exciting opportunities to grow, network and Build on the Principles of Zeta... In addition to effectuating our business, Thursday’s Opening Program will highlight Scholarship as we honor those who have excelled. Friday, we will culminate the evening by celebrating our Sisterhood and the special Sisterly Love that epitomizes our unique bond. Saturday we will take time to explore the Buffalo/Niagara Falls community and highlight our Community Service with our Z-HOPE Awards and our Regional Z-HOPE Project—“Friends to the Elderly” Program. Come Sunday morning, as we embody Finer Womanhood, prepare to be filled with the spirit at our Inspirational Breakfast.

We will depart with a clearer vision, greater passion and healthier direction as we…Blaze New Paths, thus per-sonifying International Grand Basileus Mary Breaux Wright’s national theme.

CONFERENCE

Your registration fee includes access to all official events of the 2013 Atlantic Leadership Conference includ-ing educational and leadership workshops, special performances, meal functions, and registration materials.

Please carefully review the following information to avoid delays in the processing of your registration.

Registration InformationAll Zetas, Amicae and guests who wish to attend the 55th Atlantic Regional Conference must complete an official registration form in its entirety, one form per registrant.

Registration DeadlinesEarly Bird Registration must be received by April 30, 2013Regular Registration must be received by July 31, 2013Late Registration must be received by September 11, 2013

Your registration must be received by (not postmarked by) the appropriate deadline dates. Please allow ample time for your registration to arrive by REGULAR mail.

Registrations will not be accepted after September 11, 2013. There are no exceptions and there will be no on-site registration.

Cancellations and RefundsRequests for refunds will not be honored for no-shows.

Registration Transfers/SubstitutionsWritten requests for registration transfers/substitutions must be submitted by Chapter Basilei only and must be submitted by September 11, 2013 to the office of the Atlantic Regional Director. NO requests will be accepted or honored after this date.

Badge/Registration Material Pick-UpYour pre-printed badge and registration materials will be held for you at the registration desk. Each registered Soror or guest will only be able to pick up their registra-tion materials. Please be prepared to show a government issued photo identification (driver’s license, state ID card, passport, etc.) to receive your materials. Only individuals who are registered with a badge may attend business meetings and workshops.

CONFERENCE

Airport ShuttleShuttle transportation is provided by Airport Taxi Services at a discounted rate from the price asked online. Sorors arriving should complete the form PRIOR to arrival (found on page 19) and present it at the booth near the escalator (first floor/baggage claim area) for the reduced rate. Shuttle services start at 6:20 AM from downtown Buffalo and 7 am from the airport. Last shuttle leaving downtown Buffalo is 10:20 PM and from the airport at 10 PM. Once shuttles start, they run every hour.

Optional Tour InformationPlease note-ALL tours begin at 2:00 PM sharp- please check tour highlights to see how long the tour will run. You will only be able to choose 1 of the 3 tours as they all are running concurrently.

Niagara Falls Cave-of-Winds TourA thrilling walk on Niagara Falls’ wild side! This four hour journey begins with an elevator ride 175 feet down into the Niagara Gorge. Next, get geared-up in a souvenir rain poncho and specially designed sandals to fol-low wooden walkways along Niagara River to the Hurricane Deck which is just a few breathtaking feet from the torrents of Niagara Falls. Travelers opting to visit the Canadian side of Niagara Falls must have a passport or enhanced driver’s license. $45.00

African-American Cemetery TourIn the heart of the city of Buffalo is the beauty and splendor of Forest Lawn Cemetery, the final resting place of many notable African Americans such as Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, Musician Pete Johnson, Rev. Leeland N. Jones, Jr., and our very own 6th International Grand Basileus Soror Ruth Tappe Scruggs. This two hour tour will feature a “Walk Out From the Grave” of noteworthy Americans dressed in “period” clothing giving biographical information on the featured American’s life. The tour ends with the experience of tradi-tional African libation ceremony. $30.00

Outlet ShoppingThere will be shuttle bus service to shop at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls, the home to 150 outlets of-fering unbelievable savings on designer merchandise. Canadian TravelThere will be opportunities to visit Canada, including the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. In order to do so, you must have a passport or enhanced driver’s license.
