Penny TassoniPenny Tassoni is a leading author, education consultant and trainer who specialises in the whole spectrum of learning and play.

Penny has written over forty books many of which are best sellers in the sector. Her latest professional book is the award winning ‘Reducing Educational Disadvantage; A Strategic Approach in the Early Years’.

Penny is a much sought after speaker and specialist both in the U.K and internationally. She has also worked in Istanbul, China and Japan. In addition to training, Penny is also President of Professional Association of Childcare and Education (PACEY).

Kirsty Wark Journalist, Broadcaster and WriterKirsty Wark is one of Britain’s most experienced television journalists. For twenty seven years she has presented a wide range of programmes from the ground breaking Late Show to Election specials, live stadium events and since 1993, the BBC’s flagship nightly current affairs show Newsnight. She has also hosted the weekly Newsnight Review show.

Mark McDonald MSP Minister for Childcare and Early YearsMark holds an MA in Politics from the University of Dundee and MLitt in Strategic Studies from the University of Aberdeen. In 2013 he was selected as the SNP candidate for AberdeenDonside and was re-elected to the Scottish Parliament as MSP in 2016, and subsequently appointed to his current position.

Tam Baillie Former Children and Young People’s Commissioner in ScotlandTam worked with children and young people for 30 years before becoming the Commissioner in 2009. He has worked in Scotland and England in both government and voluntary organisations. He worked as the Director of Policy for Barnardo’s Scotland from 2003 and worked extensively on children’s policy and rights issues.

Jim Taylor Autism ConsultantJim was one of the first teachers in Scotland to work exclusively with pupils with Autism before being recruited by The Scottish Society for Children with Autism, now known as Scottish Autism. He has been influential in the development of adapting the curriculum and teachingstyles to the unique learning, communication and thinking styles of children with Autism.

Dr Bruce D. Perry M.D., PH.D. Personalised Video for EYSDr Perry has been an active teacher, clinician and researcher in children’s mental health and the neurosciences for 30 years. He is the Senior Fellow of The ChildTrauma Academy, Houston, Texas and adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and BehaviouralSciences at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Barbara Dale Chair of EYS BoardBarbara has worked as a primary and specialist infant teacher, as an SPPA Fieldworker, as a Senior Lecturer at Falkirk College, and as an SQA Senior External Verifier. She lectured at Bell College, and before retiring was Head of a Stirling Council nursery. She currently delivers training and works with SQA, contributing to qualification development.

Jane Brumpton B.Ed Hons, PGCE, Depute Chief Executive, Early Years ScotlandJane was Head Teacher of Woodacre Nursery School for 9 years in Glasgow City Council. During this time, she had a 3 year secondment to Learning and Teaching Scotland (now Education Scotland) as an Early Years Development Officer, working nationally within the Early Years team.

Penny is a much sought after speaker and specialist both in the U.K and internationally. She has also worked in Istanbul, China and Japan. In addition to training, Penny is also President of Professional Association of Childcare and Education (PACEY).
