Centre for Nuclear and Radiation Physics

Group Leader: Prof W. N. Catford 12.5 academics including 5 professors, plus 3 Emeritus

professors, 9 postdocs and 52 PhD students. Internationally leading research.

Turnover of between 7 and 8 million pounds per year.

Theoretical and experimental Nuclear Structure research, theoretical Hadron Physics, Applied Nuclear Physics in medicine, imaging and materials characterization.

The Centre has recently (June 2008) appointed 2 new lecturers in

applied radiation physics.

2 MSc Courses in Medical Physics and Radiation and Environmental Protection. New MSc course in Radiation Detection and Instrumentation 2008
