5 Ways to Lead a Healthy Lifestyle Regular physical activity and good eating habits play an important role in leading a healthy life. Almost everyone is aware of this fact, but few are able to follow it religiously. Busy life takes a tool on health and fitness; rushing to and from work and school makes it difficult to find time to stay healthy. Kids spend most of their free time watching television or playing video games. Add on to that, junk food makes things still more difficult. We just can’t hold ourselves back, only to be surprised by sudden illness or chronic long term problem. Here are five simple ways through which we can get back on track: 1. Stay active every day Regular exercise is important for proper development of our body. Our body release certain hormones when we exercise regularly which enable in proper mental and physical development. We should make it a habit to undergo one hour of physical work regularly. A lethargic lifestyle will make your bones brittle. 2. Make it a habit to drink enough water One should drink sufficient amount of water daily. It is particularly important for those people who are not able to continue with regular exercise. Water helps in removing toxins from our body and helps in reducing fat. It also plays an important role in the proper functioning of our blood. 3. Have more fruits and vegetables in your diet Fruits and vegetables should form a part of nutrition and fitness programs. They help in developing strong immune system of our body and thereby reducing the risk of many chronic diseases. Fruit juices are good, but they do not provide the required fibre, which plays an important role in proper functioning of our digestive system. 4. Keep Yourself away from Electronic gadgets TV, video games and other electronic gadgets that keep you tied inside the four walls of a home should be done away with. Reduce the amount of time you spend with them. They may provide good exercise to your mind, but not for your body. Reduce their portion from nutrition / fitness program. 5. Stay away from junk food The crux is, keep a control on your taste buds. Junk food such as chips, cakes etc. are high in saturated fat which is not good for your health and fitness.
