Following an extensive trial and training process, we are very pleased to offer your son a two

year scholarship with Kinetic Academy. We have been impressed with your son’s attitude,

commitment and personality as well as his technical and tactical footballing ability. Due to

our exceptional programme we are inundated with young people wanting to secure a

scholarship with us however we only offer a limited number of places. We believe your son

would benefit greatly from enrolling with Kinetic Academy.

The following pack outlines what this offer entails and what the commitment would be for

your son.

Dear Player and Parent,

About us Kinetic Foundation is a registered charity which is governed by the objectives to help young

people into further education, employment or training. We help all our participants to reach

their potential through sport. We strongly believe that positive sporting experiences can have

a lasting impact on young people. Through entering the Academy, we will ensure our

participants complete a full time education pathway alongside an outstanding football

programme which has been successful at creating 28 professional players in 5 seasons. Also,

the Kinetic Foundation is heavily involved in community work, so participants will have the

chance to give back to the community through volunteering and gain some

valuable qualifications and work experience that will enhance their CV and employability.

What makes Kinetic Academy unique?

         Holistic approach

Through our charitable status we ensure a holistic approach to a young persons development:

education, volunteering, mentoring, football education.

         Professional signings

28 players progressed onto professional clubs in 5 seasons which no programme has come

close to.

         Quality assurance

We limit the number of young people we accept onto our programme to ensure the high quality

of delivery which Kinetic is renowned for - unlike similar programmes, we do not rely upon the

number of young people enrolled for increased finances.

         Game schedule

Our structure includes the ownership of a step 5 football club and the running of the 1st team.

Players are not contracted or restricted to one club, but the 1st team is an attainable target.

         Academic excellence

We can offer a multitude of Academic pathways including 3 A levels, A level plus a BTEC Level 3

Extended Diploma or BTEC Level 3 Diploma.

         Welfare and Safeguarding care

The welfare of the young people enrolled on our programmes is of paramount importance. We

pride ourselves on the safe, engaging and no 'fear of failure' environment we create for our

young people to thrive within. We review the participants progress on a termly basis.

Kinetic Academy- Case Studies

Roberto is from the crime-ridden Pollard Hill estate in Croydon, and started engagingwith the Foundation in 2011, attending our GCSE support sessions and participating incommunity football. After two years of increasing involvement, Roberto earned ascholarship for the football Academy based at Woodcote High School. He alsoqualified as an FA Level 1 coach and began volunteering as an assistant coach. InFebruary 2015, after gaining experience and further qualifications, Roberto becamethe lead coach back on his community session. In June, Roberto left Woodcote with aTriple Distinction Star in his Sport BTEC. Thanks to the educational support, freequalifications and volunteer experience provided by Kinetic. Roberto began studyingSports Science at the prestigious University of Bath, becoming the first member of hisfamily to attend University. In 2016, Roberto joined the Kinetic Foundation staff on hisplacement year taking on the internship of Sport Development Officer.

Brad was part of our first Kinetic Academy intake and was very close to signing aprofessional contract with Crystal Palace FC. Unfortunately a deal did notmaterialise but Brad gained his coaching badges in a multitude of sports underour tutelage. Brad is now employed full time working on our school programmeand takes our Kinetic Academy Under 15 team. We are very proud of Brad'sjourney and the path he has taken;he struggled with school and educationgrowing up but used his passion for football to forge out a successful career.

A scholar on the Academy programme, Mothibi worked hard both on andoff the pitch to continue his football alongside his dream to study in theUSA. He helped Royal Russell lift the ISFA National Cup in 2017 whilstalso achieving outstanding A level results. In the Summer of 2017,Mothibi has taken a gap year to volunteer and coach young people in hishomeland of South Africa after gaining his coaching qualification whilstwith Kinetic Academy. He has passed his SATs and is set to enrolat Dartmouth in 2018.

Regan first attended the Foundation in 2015 taking part in our SportEducatefootball and education evening project. He was lucky enough to fundraise andvolunteer his time to earn a place on the USA 2016 Easter tour and went toSweden in the Summer of 2016. This year, he has been mentored kindly byTom Leman at Pinsent Masons after impressing their team at the Lincolnfundraiser back in the Spring. Regan is going from strength to strength and thisSummer passed his first coaching course with the Real Madrid Foundation toadd another qualification to his growing CV.

Woodcote High SchoolWe have been successfully working in partnership with Woodcote High School (WHS) since

the inception of our Academy five years ago. WHS can offer a broad range of A level courses

as well as the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport which is equivalent to 3 A levels.

Young people are also able to study 1 A level alongside the extended diploma BTEC. Our

training model always allows for A level pupils to still train full time as we have training after

school hours as well as during the day time. Each pupil has their own designated computer

and all lessons are delivered in a purpose built classroom; the education has practical

components which are all delivered on site by qualified teachers. To support the teachers we

have a full time liaison officer in each lesson who then accompanies the pupils to training.

Woodcote is a specialist Sports School whose facilities consist of two sports halls, a fitness

suite gym and a new multi million pound athletics and football development which pupils

have full access to.

Our SCL programme offers the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport and can also support learners to

complete the Extended Diploma if they so wish. It is located in central Croydon and is easier to

commute to for young people travelling longer distances.  The course, which is equivalent to 3 A-

levels, focuses on all aspects of sport including sports coaching, physiology of sport, fitness

training, technical and tactical skills, to name a few. This will allow the students to understand and

implement what internal and external factors that are considered for sporting performance,

coaching young people and the science behind sport. The course also provides the opportunity to

retake GCSE Maths and English as well as attempt Functional Skills in the two subjects.

Furthermore, this can help strengthen university prospects and generally academia. The students

will also gain vital work experience and opportunities to secure jobs with CV building sessions. The

course also looks into current affairs, tutorials, E&D and aids students the opportunity to portray

British values in the shape of debates, a right to vote, rule of law and individual liberty.

All our training sessions are conducted at Whyteleafe FC utilsing their fantastic 3G facilities.

This outstanding facility allows us to train all year around without any disruption. We also

structure our training to the specific needs of the young people on our programme – each day

our training is split into either three or four groups. This is often based on position, tactical or

technical needs as well as being influenced by the educational programme of study.

Additionally we offer bespoke sessions for pupils who may miss the group session due to thier

program of study. The quality of our training has proven success of developing grassroots

players at every level; some into Category 1-3 clubs, county/representative team and others into

semi-professional clubs.

Video Analysis – Drone footage and HudlThe use of technology in sport is becoming increasingly important and at Kinetic weembrace, and pioneer, techniques to assist in player development. We purchased a top ofthe range drone at the start of the 2017/18 season and use this to film each home game. This gives players an excellent tactical view of their performance.

The games are then uploaded toHudl which is a “leading softwarecompany revolutionising the waycoaches and managers prepare forand stay ahead of thecompetition”. Players can reviewthe footage and create their ownhighlight reel and annotate areaswhere they need to improve.Additionally the coaching staff clipand edit the game and review thiswith the players at video analysismeetings.

American University ScholarshipsAs an alternative to continuing a football career here in the UK, Kinetic has beendeveloping their ability to offer students the alternative of continuing studies and playingfootball at US universities.  Kinetic charges nothing for this support which is important, considering there are costs in the thousands requested by agents offering similarservices. In addition, Kinetic has been developing their contacts over the past few yearsso their student-athletes can enter schools which are appropriate academically and offergood value to the student. As an example, our first placement support was offered to astudent with interest from Yale University, Dartmouth College, Oregon State University andDePaul. We have also just this year begun the use of drone footage that will help UScoaches immensely seeing both the performance of individual players and the Kineticapproach to playing football.  We are hopeful that in the coming years, many more playerswill have the opportunity to continue their studies and their football in the US.

"My time at Kinetic was nothing butlife changing. I was just a kid doingthe normal thing a London boy wouldbe doing but when I went to Kineticthat all changed. They tested mymentality and my work ethic everydaywhich has led me to where I amtoday. Training was difficult butenjoyable and I was constantlylearning and improving; I had to be ontask with school work which wasdifficult but necessary."

"The Kinetic programme made us understand that education is equally as important asfootball. A lot of us wanted to be footballers and Kinetic gave us all opportunities to move tothe next level. I moved into a professional club and carried everything I learnt with me. Now Iam at Oregon State University with the help of Kinetic. I no longer struggle with my educationdue to the lessons I learnt whilst at the programme about balancing my time. I learnt how to bea leader and how to excel at both football and education - my journey started at Kinetic."

Coaching Pathway We hope all players progress onto professional or semi professional playing contractseither during or at the end of the two year programme. However, each individual needs acontingency plan in case this is not an option; the BTEC qualification provides one backup through education but we also offer an unique coaching pathway as well. As part ofthe course each young person will complete the Level One Coaching Badge in Footballwhich fully qualifies the individual to lead sessions and gain employment as a coach. What makes our offer unique is that we actively offer our qualified young people theopportunity to work in their community and be paid to do so. We run a number ofcommunity projects throughout South London on a weekly basis which offers theplatform for players to gain experience, knowledge and employment which could lead toa potential career path. 18 players have now progressed into our coaching pathways andare now employed by ourselves or clubs in the football league.

Volunteering The Kinetic Foundation is passionate about seeing their young people give somethingback to their community. We are heavily involved in promoting volunteering roles for ouryoung people to participate in. Roles may include: bag packing at a local supermarket, handing out flyers, working with Woodcote High School junior school teams, coaching atsummer camps, officiating our young Kinetic teams matches, work experience with oneof our partners or assisting at our Forever Fit exercise class.

Mentoring Each new 1st year player will be given a personal mentor from our existing group of players tohelp facilitate a smooth transition into the programme. This will be based mainly aroundgeographic location so that the mentor can help with travelling to and from the programme.Additionally, this mentor will also be a reference point for the softer side of the programmesuch as session content or when/what to eat at lunch. Our full time Liaison Officer will also, by the nature of the role, be a mentor to each individualacross both school and football. They will be a constant person for the young people to talk toand gain advice from on a daily basis. We are also fortunate enough to have a number ofbusinesses come in and talk to the boys on a regular basis allowing them to explore a variety ofopportunities and talk to a wide range of experts about their future aspirations. Furthermore, we also have our past players that come in a talk to our squads to share theirexperience of their two years with us and advice as to what steps are next available to them.We believe this is a very effective way of mentoring our young people as they can relate morewith our past players.

Testimonials Erika Dawkins – parent of Kinetic Academy player: “When our son decided to join Kinetic Academy and Woodcote High School, we wereslightly apprehensive.  We had not heard of either establishment.  We had spent theprevious winter months trailing 6th forms that would facilitate our sons ambitions, thatbeing a professional footballer, a goalkeeper coach, a physical education teacher or a PTinstructor in the police force. In order to achieve any one of these ambitions, our son needed to be in full time educationaiming to go to University and he also needed to be playing football full time. Both Woodcote School and Kinetic Academy are able to help us achieve his aspiration. At Woodcote School the teachers are supportive,  helpful and maintain contact withparents be it good or bad.  The school keep you informed of any activity or meetings thatparents need to attend.  They too are eager for your child to do well and move on to theirchosen career path.  This is evident in the way they support both parent and child. At Kinetic our son is able to play his sport at a high level.  His team and opponents are ofa high sporting calibre, which enhances the confidence within the boys.  Kinetic havehelped my son gain his first aid certificate and level 1 coaching badge. The coaches at Kinetic encourage the boys to put education first then football will follow.  They are supportive, firm, helpful and understanding to parents and boys and have provento be great mentors which shows in the rapport they have with each other. Our son couldn't be happier at Kinetic, playing the sport he loves at the perfectestablishment that will help him to further his aspiration.” Robert & Yvette Rudder – parent of Kinetic Academy player: “We wanted to say thanks for all the support you have given our son. We believe thatKinetic is the best thing that has happened to him in terms of football and academics. Hehas been a different person recently and we wanted to say thank you for giving him a liftand helping him rediscover his confidence”
