entire system, a keystone that was remo~~a cen tu r ies ago from the theology and doctrine of : the Church. The: teach~~g~ concerning -Je~us and concerning God

··:fn the _c.Old .Testament cannot be iriter,'-preted without that particular theology

o~ doct~ine being included. That is the dbctrine of reincarnation.

We note from . our studies of the ·anostic Teachings tt-1at were prevalent throughout the world from the First to the Fourth · centuries, that or:Lginally the Church did teach that the soul lived ·many,. many times, that periodically it w~nt .~nto the ocean of light and stayed Tor a ·pefiod and then returned to l i ve foi ancither ~eriod of incarnation. That .c.arried · out . the symbolism in the Book of Genesis, where it . says, "And on the seventh day God -~nded his work whic ~ he ha-0 made; and he rested on the seventh day from .ail his work which he, -had ma.de." The, .. Sp.me_ . is true . of t he soul. ·· On t he i~v~rith d~y it rests. · It go~s through ~ix . ages or cycles of labors and works to ove~co~e the material things until it reaches its zenith of evolveme nt and will no longer be incarnated and the soul of man .will r~st from its labors. That is also taught in the Kabbala where it says, !!In the suns . they remember but in the planets they forget," because . man loses, that is, . 'i-n most cases, · his . memo;r.y -of the various lives · that he. has lived.

The one who has delved deep .ly into the Mysteries knows that the soul is an eternal and infinite and immortal t h ing.

It does not attain immortality. It is immortal in the beginning. It may attain an immortal state of oneness with God where it no longer tastes of death, but the soul itself in passing through its various lives or incarnations is a deathless thing.

Wh3.t is death anyway? What is what we call death? That is when we depart from the body, but to th~ soul departure from the body is not death but birth. It is the leaving of a state of de8.,th and the going into a state of life. Remember that the Master Jesus in speaking of life or what we call life, spoke of it often as being death because it is in the grave of the body t:r,at the soul is · buried and by being buried it is shut away from the realm of life wh~ch ls the true life of the soul.

Jesus said tn;is :·· "Let the dead go bury the dead," and 11I go to show the way, after this manner shall ye follow me, 11 because to him what man calls life and living was not true life. The only real life is in the · spiritual state of being. Just as -so many have- rnistalcen the meaning and teaching of the crucifixion of Jesus. They say that 11Jesus died for me. His precious blood he shed .. 11
