DATA ANALYSIS & RESULT

3.1 Raw and processed data

The data collection is using automation survey concepts which is all the measurement data

recorded in Leica Total Station.

In CDS software, it’s create many junction files when opens a New job. All the files

must be stored in a specified folder. So that, it enables the user to move the folder to another

directory witout misplacing the files.

3.1.1 Create a new job

Starts CDS from the Programs Menu

Pull down “File” menu then select “New”

Click “New Job”

Create new folder in specified directory

3.1.2 Transfer Raw Data from Leica Total Station

Pull “Entry”, “Data Collector”, “Collect Raw Data”

3.1.3 Open the stadia files

Pull “Entry” then click “Electronic stadia”

Tick “Stadia” then “browse” to find stadia file, then click “ Open Existing”

3.1.4 Calculate Coordinates and Heights

Pull “Options” then click “Show Coordinates”

3.1.5 Show topography details graphically

Pull “Options” then click “Store Data in Database”

Tick “All” then click “OK”. After that, Press shortcut key “Z” & “E”

Click “Layers” then justify

3.2 Engineering plan

3.2.1 Export to drawing format

Pull “File” then click “ Plot Parameters”

Justify “Sheet Details”, “Point Param”, “Point Selection”, “Reset”, “All”, so on

3.2.2 Export to *dwg Format

Pull “File” then click “Export DWG”

Click ‘Yes” to open the drawing in AutoCAD

Below is the topography details in AutoCAD drawing. Then the next step is to edit

and produce Engineering plan.
