Facts about the Genocide

Out of a population of 7.3 million people–85% of whom were Hutu, 15% Tutsi.

The official figures published by the Rwandan government estimated the number of victims of the genocide to be 1,174,000 in 100 days.

That’s 10,000 people murdered everyday. Or that’s 400 people every hour. And that’s also 7 people every minute. Paul was only able to save 1,268 refugees, or

only about 3 hours and 10 minutes worth of people.
