Winter/2010
CCLF Expanding Building for SustainabilityProgram serves Chicagoland community developers
CCLF has beencommitted to supportingenvironmentallysustainable projectsthroughout the Chicagometropolitan regionsince we published ourfirst Guide to Buildingfor Sustainability in2001. Since then,CCLF's Building forSustainability programhas continued to grow.In 2009, CCLF
converted our guide into the format of a website resource atgreenaffordable.org. The site contains resources and tools for developerswho want to incorporate "green" technology in their projects, and is updatedas new technologies and strategies evolve.
CCLF hired Elizabeth Richards (LEEDGreen Associate) as our VicePresident of Technical Assistance &Sustainability in 2010, giving theprogram even more capacity than everbefore. CCLF is working with regionalefforts to provide energy efficiencyretrofit financing, including the Centerfor Neighborhood Technology, Lake
County, and the Kane County Revolving Loan Fund for Energy Efficiency."This is such an active time for Chicago in the areas of sustainability, energy efficiency and healthy communities," says Richards. "We're excitedto bring new resources to our clients and their projects, and I particularlylook forward to utilizing our partnerships to move new initiatives forward." To find out more about CCLF's Building for Sustainability programming orfor technical assistance and resources, email [email protected] orvisit www.greenaffordable.org.
