HOW GREAT LOVE IS

Page 3: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Once upon a time, there was an

island where all the feelings lived:

Happiness, Sadness, and all of the others including Love.

Page 4: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

One day it was announced to the

feelings that the island would sink, so all repaired their boats and left.

Page 5: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to

persevere until the last possible moment. When the island was almost sinking, Love decided to ask for help.

Page 6: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness answered, "No I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place for you here."

Page 7: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Love decided to ask Vanity, who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel, "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

Page 8: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness let me go with you." "Oh...Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

Page 9: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her!

Page 10: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come Love, I will take you." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he even forgot to ask the elder her name. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Love realizing how much he owed the elder, asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who helped me?"

Page 11: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

"It was Time", Knowledge answered.

"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered,

"Because only Time is capable of understanding

how great Love is."

NAILS IN THE FENCE

Page 13: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail in the back fence.

Page 14: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Page 15: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out.

Moral : It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one."

THE LOVE & CD

Page 18: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

There was a guy that was born with cancer. A cancer that has no known cure. He was 17 years old and could die at any moment. He was always at home, under his mother's care.

Page 19: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

One day he decided to go out, even if it was just once. He asked his mother for permission and she agreed. Walking down his block he saw many stores. Stopping at a music store he looked in and saw a very pretty girl of his own age, it was love at first sight and he walked in. He walked up to the counter were the girl was. She smiled at him and asked "Can I help you with anything?"

Page 20: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

The guy could only think that it

was the most beautiful smile he

had ever seen and stuttered,

"Well, ummm, I'd like to buy a... ". He grabbed the first one he saw and gave her the money.

Page 21: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

One day the guy set out for

the store with a determined

mind, he bought a CD and

the girl wrapped it as usual.

While she was busy he left his

telephone on the counter

and rushed out of the store.

Page 22: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

The following day the guy

didn't visit the store, and the

girl called him. His mother

answered the phone, wondering who it could be.

It was the girl from the music

store! She asked to speak

with her son and his mother

started crying. The girl asked her what was the matter.

"Don't you know? He died

yesterday." There was a long

silence on the phone.

Page 23: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Later that afternoon the guy's mother entered his room to remember her

son. She decided to start with his closet, and to her surprised she saw a

big pile of unopened CDs wrapped in festive paper. She was curious

because there were so many of them, and she opened one. As she tore open the package she noticed a slip of paper that said:

"Hi! You're cute, I would love to meet you. Let's go out some time. Sophie"

The mother started crying as she opened another, and another, and another. Every single CD contained a slip of paper that said the same.

Moral: That's the way life is, don't wait to show those special people the way you feel, tomorrow could be too late.

THE WINDOW

Page 26: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. Every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

Page 27: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man had said.

Page 28: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

Page 29: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing

by. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his

mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive

words. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should he

have all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything?

Page 30: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

One day the man by the window has passed away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Page 31: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed ...

..........It faced a blank wall!!!

Page 32: 4nicestories 101130102638-phpapp02

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said,

"Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

Moral : There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money can't buy.
