    1. Create a new sketch on the underside of the top surface of the part. We will be making a bosswhich extends downward into the inside of the part. (Ignore the unusual colors the application

color option was set to a different setting for the next two screen shots. It is worth noting that thecolor scheme used to denote geometry constraints changes with the display color scheme.)

    2. Project the X axis onto the sketch plane.

    3. Draw a circle on the axis to the left of the center.

    4. Dimension the circle as shown and exit the sketch.

    5. Extrude the boss .25 in. off the inside surface.

    6. Create a new sketch on the top surface of the part.

    7. Project the boss (Extrusion3) onto the sketch plane and put a Point, Hole Center at the center

of the projected circle. Exit the sketch.

    8. Create a 0.377 in. ID hole from the top suface to the bottom surface of the boss.

    9. Since the next feature is on the same plane, well share Sketch5 instead of defining a new

sketch plane. Right-click on Sketch5 in the Model browser and select Share Sketch.

    10. Draw a Two point rectangle across the projected axis as shown:

    11. Select the Coincident constraint.

    12. Select the midpoint of one side of the rectangle and the projected axis. This constrains that

side centered on the axis. Do the same for the opposite side of the rectangle.

    13. The rectangle is now constrained centered on the axis, without having to dimension it in theZ axis.

    14. Dimension the rectangle as shown to size and position it in the X axis. Then exit the sketch.

    15. Cut the rectangle out with the Extrude tool, using the To Next extent.

    16. Next we will create a web between Extrusion2 and Extrusion3. To do this we need to define

sketch on the plane bisecting both extrusions in this case we can use the XY Plane.

    17. Project the intersecting edge of each extrusion (Project Geometry)

    18. Draw a line connecting the two projected lines. Make sure the line is coincident with both

and perpendicular with the side of Extrusion4.

    19. Set the line .180 in. below the bottom surface (the end of the projected line) and exit thesketch.

    20. Select the Rib tool Profile pointer and select the line you just drew. Select just the one line

do not select the projected lines. Set the Thickness to 0.1 in. and set it to extrude to both sides ofthe plane. Click OK.

    21. The web should bridge between the two extrusions and the bottom of the top surface of the

    base.

    22. With the Fillet tool, add a 0.03 in. fillet to the inside edges as shown. Note that a fillet caneither add or remove material, even in the same feature definition.

    24. Chamfer the outside top edge 0.1 in. x 45 with the Chamfer tool.
