The LTE1800 User Devices Ecosystem

Report (July 3, 2012) confirmed that 67 manufacturers have announced 417 LTE-

enabled user devices, including frequency and carrier variants.

The number of LTE user devices announced more than tripled over the past year.

The report covered devices for use on FDD or TDD modes, form factors, operating

frequencies,

The choice of LTE1800 (band 3) devices has significantly expanded. According to the

report there are 98 LTE1800 user devices i.e. almost double the number reported by

GSA in January 2012. LTE1800 smartphones have been introduced by all the leading vendors. See chart on

the next page.

Migration to 4G LTE We are already planning for 4G LTE implementation

Our network is All-IP ready and providing unlimitedbackhaul capacity to cater for future demand of 4G LTE

Our core network also support 4G LTE.

We are working with technology partners to formulate an

action plan to upgrade our network to 4G LTE on 1800MHz

when required

We are also planning for an early trial of LTE technology by

first quarter 2013.

Telecel seeking to get Extra 15MHz in 1800Mhz band 3 to

launch 4G LTE.
