2 nd Quarter Writing Prompts 1. Convince someone why music or art or computers are important in your life.  Make

them appreciate your viewpoint. 2. If you had $100,000,000 how would you spend it? 3. You are to tell a person from a distant planet or from another era what pollution

is.  Make that person understand what causes it and why it is bad. 

4. Be a building you know well.  Talk about your life and memories. 

5. If you could do something that you never have done before, what would it be?  Why would you want to do it? 

6. What do you consider your greatest accomplishment to date and why? 

7. Write about what you think you will be like and what you will be doing 10 years or 20 years from now.

8. Write about the stray animal you brought home. (if you never have, then this is a chance to create a completely imaginary story).

9. What is it like to go shopping with your mother? 10. Write about a disastrous trip or vacation.

3 rd Quarter Writing Prompts

Theme: Argumentative/Persuasive1. Should students be able to ‘choose’ their own curriculum? For example, if you only wanted to take

Math classes for a quarter- should you be able to? (Why or why not? How could this help? Hurt? Benefit? Hold back?- Students).

2. If you know someone cheats on homework and/or a test, should you notify anyone? Why? Why not? What if you cheated on something, would you be mad at someone for reporting you? Why do people cheat, rather than risking not being perfect?

3. Do you think parents should have complete access to their child(ren)’s cell phones? Why? Why not? How much access should they have? How much should a parent monitor what their child(ren) view (regarding screen time: TV, Computer, Video games, Cell phones, tablets, etc).

4. Do you think dress codes are necessary for educational success? Why? Why not? Defend your answer with specific reasons.

5. After reviewing your report card from 2nd quarter- what are your thoughts? How did you do? What can you improve upon? Are you applying yourself in all of your classes, in church, and on the playground?

6. Create your own holiday.  What would you celebrate?  How could you get others to join in the fun?
