See the world No matter where you go, your eyes are your windows to the world. Your Aetna International Vision coverage, as part of your Aetna International plan, helps you get the care you need to have healthy eyes and a clear outlook. Here is a general overview of what our plans cover.

Annual eye exams

It’s important to get checked every year for eye health. A routine eye exam may also reveal an underlying health condition that can cause eye-related symptoms or changes. Most of our plans cover:

• One routine eye exam every 12 months

• Global access to eye care wherever you are

Glasses and contact lenses

If eyewear allowance benefits are included as part of your vision coverage, you may have a set dollar allowance for the purchase of eyeglass lenses, eyeglass frames or contact lenses. Type of coverage and specific allowance amounts depend on your plan.

Aetna VisionSM discounts

When you’re in the U.S., you can also find valuable discounts on eye exams, eyewear and even LASIK surgery. Check your plan documents for details on how to save money with these discounts.

Easy to use

With your vision plan, you don’t need to complete a claim form if you see a participating doctor in the U.S.

You also don’t need a referral. And we’ve made it easier than ever to find an eye doctor near you through these simple steps:

1. Log in to Health Hub, your member website, at AetnaInternational.com.

2. Select the “Find health care” tab at the top of the page.

3. Using the drop-down boxes under “Find health care,” select a country and city, then click “Search.”

Check your plan

Not all vision plans include the same coverage. And your plan’s coverage levels may differ slightly when accessing care in the U.S. compared to other countries. To better understand these differences and what your specific plan covers, please refer to your plan documents.
