Teacher Assistants are in demand at the moment with many Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Schools adversing regularly for this posion. You can also use this qualificaon along with the Cerficate IV and Diploma to enable entry into university for the Teacher’s Degree. Pre-Requisites Minimum Educaon Year 10, must be over 18 years old (ID required), Australian Cizen or Resident and a Working with Children Check. What’s Involved? This course runs 3 nights pw for 15 weeks. Work Experience At the end of the course you are required to complete 90 hrs (3 weeks) work experience at a private or public Pre-Primary, Primary or Secondary School. This will be organised for you by the lecturer. Costs and Government Funding The cost of the course is $2450 however you may be eligible for government funding which would provide either a significant reducon in course fees or even a fee free course depending on your circumstances. Recognion of Prior Learning If you are currently working as a Teacher’s Assistant and feel you can demonstrate the skills and knowledge of this qualificaon you are welcome to apply for Recognion of Prior Learning (RPL).
