Corruption• Corruption - use of a position of trust for
dishonest gain.
• India is ranked 87th in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index.
• Corruption has become a persistent aspect of Indian politics and administration.
Types of corruption• Extortionary corruption - citizen has no
choice; if he doesn't pay up he will end up losing time and money on a much bigger scale. E.g.: government offices
• Collusive corruption - person who is paying up is in collusion with the public authority to fleece the general public. E.g.: contracts, tenders and projects.

organisation leading the fight against corruption• Anti Corruption Mission (Delhi)• Federation of Anti-Corruption Teams – consists of more
than 40 teams fighting corruption in India

improve transparency• E.g.: BHOOMI - project to digitize the paper land records
