    Introduction:- Indore Ice company had been in operation for over50 year manufacture ice for all purpose. Mr. Ajit had managed the plant

    for the past 30 years. He performed all of the jobs in the plant. Mr. Ajit

    philosophy was aptly describe by his frequently made observation that

    this is an old-fashioned business and we are going to run it in old

    fashioned way. Mr. Ajit words were law. He used his expertise andposition to run all aspects of the operation, trusting few if any of the

    other employees. There was no supervisor had the authority to give him

    the day off.

    Due to heart attack Mr. Ajit died. His son Brij, had beenconsidering going into business for himself for sometime and was now

    considering the possibility of replacing his father. He hadnt been home

    much during the past few years as he had been busy pursuing his owncareer in advertising.

    In October, Brij arrived at the Indore Ice company, walked in the

    door and saw a sign pasted on the wall directly in front of him: We

    have got one rule- do what youre told. Mr. Ajit always assigned the

    jobs first thing each morning. Absenteeism and tardiness were major

    problems; there were no policy, procedures, or rules.

    The annual turnover rate average about 75% over the past five

    years. And this Ice company was the only large ice company in the

    major metropolitan area. He later leaned that many vendors, dissatisfied.

    Organizational Structure:- In this case there was no structureof organization. Autocratic model system was there and centralization

    system used there, subordinate had no authority to give any permission

    and allow for something . No hierarchy system, only one boss is there.

    Key Personnel:- Some keys are mentioned below:

    1.The Ice company was the large company in the major metropolitanarea.

    2.Unskilled labor to sales and supervisory personnel.3.The company was running in old fashioned way.4.Autocratic system used there.5.There was no hierarchy system; organization was centralized. All

    power and authority have only one person.

    6.There was no proper planning; nobody really knows what theywere supposed to do.

    7.There was lack of division of work, all employee worked on onlyone command.

    8.No discipline means no rules or procedures, no policy andabsenteeism also.9.Staffing function isnt there means there was lack of skilled labor.

    10.Controlling is also not there; no standards for work, no

    measurement of employees performance, no daily or weekly or

    monthly report of works.

    11.No sprit de corps.

    12.Bad customer services.

    Philosophy Of The Company: There was no futurephilosophy, no vision, no mission of company.

    Situational Analysis: In the pastMr. Ajit had been managingice company for the past 30 years. In that time Ice company was only

    large ice company in the major metropolitan area. The annual

    turnover rate average about 75% over the past five years. In the pastcompany had lost a considerable amount of money due to

    decreasing sales over the past two years. In fact sales for last year

    were down Rs. 3,27,000 from the previous year.

    Andat present, Ajits son Mr. Brij is running this Icecompany. Ice company is also only large ice company in the major

    metropolitan area and industrial ice services comprised a little under

    12% of the total business.

    SWOT Analysis:- There are some points to show SWOT of Icecompany:

    1.(S)Today ice company position in market means it is only largeice company in the major metropolitan area, Brijs advertisement

    skills, sufficient manpower and machines also.

    2.(W) But there are many weak points of company like- unskilledlabor(right person on right time), no proper planning, no

    controlling, authority and responsibility and the major factor is

    Customer Services.

    3.(O)Ice company is only large ice company in the majormetropolitan area with 12% of total business. Ice company can

    capture remaining market to overcome on weaknesses. And then

    can also cover to another market of other cities by established

    franchises.

    4.(T) Competitors are the major factor in terms of threats. GoodResources means employee should be educated and skilful and

    smart worker.

    Some suggestion for Brij like- He can implement his

    advertisement skill in market, takes suggestion by

    management consultant to improve and expand hisbusiness. He should be more conscious towards

    organization management system like Staffing..
