What a great time of the year! Spring is in the air, business is very solid, and we just celebrated two significant birthdays in April! Dynabrade, Inc. celebrated our 45th year in business, and Dynabrade Europe celebrated 25 years of business in Europe! I like to use the expression “45 years young” because we have a keen eye on the future, and how we want to continue to grow your business successfully for many years to come! Dynabrade continues to invest in our businesses to better serve our end-users, distribution partners and employees! This year will feature some exciting investments that will position Dynabrade for growth and market share gain. You will read in this issue about our new Sage business system that will replace the existing EMIS system. This is a welcomed tool that will be “state of the art” and make our lives easier and more productive. Other key investments include new demonstration vans to better highlight our products, the continued expansion of our website in different languages (French and Italian), and our commitment to various social media outlets to reach a broader and younger audience interested in our services! Lastly, Dynabrade will be conducting our first formal Strategic Planning Session with sales and marketing management this June in Clarence, New York. Our mission will be to develop a short and long- term plan to help guide us to continued growth and profitability over the next three to five years! Dynabrade Europe S.àr.l. marks an impressive milestone in 2014,celebrating their 25th anniversary as a Dynabrade subsidiary!

Dynabrade first established our Luxembourg operation back in 1989,opening an office in a converted farmhouse and using the barn as awarehouse. In those early days the Luxembourg operation received onlya monthly product shipment from the USA.

Our business in Europe quickly began to grow, and more employeeswere hired. This required a move to a larger building in 1991, and in1998 our current European headquarters was constructed. We now havea beautiful facility covering almost 75,000 square feet.

Supervised by Cengiz Ceylan and Bernard Abraham, our presentLuxembourg team consists of 26 dedicated employees who speak 14different languages. In addition there are 30 outside sales representatives.Together they service over 1,400 active accounts throughout Europe,the Middle East and Africa, and these sales represent 33% ofDynabrade’s overall total.

Global Website AddsTwo Languages

The Dynabrade message continues to reach an ever-wideningaudience, with the recent translation of our website into French andItalian. Our translated websites provide a vital communication source tointernational distributors and customers alike. This brings our totalwebsite languages to seven, with more translations still to come.

These new options have been added to the “Select a Language” pageof our website. You may also change language at any time by clicking“Change” in the upper right corner of our home page.

Many thanks to our European team for providing the extensivetranslations, and to Webmaster Jeff Lipski and Network AdministratorJustin Bennett for bringing these new sites to life.

Dynabrade Points to Future with New Business SystemBy John Battista, IT Manager

Dynabrade, Inc. will begin implementing a new BusinessInformation Solution in May 2014, to position our company for afuture of continuous growth. Our current system (EMIS) is now15 years old and has served us well, but with technologicaladvancements it has become outdated. We now require muchmore flexibility to help us remain competitive in the marketplace.Of course change is inevitable, and we must embrace it to remainthe leader in our industry.

Over the past several months we have been evaluating severaldifferent software products. This process began by reaching out toeach Dynabrade employee to solicit positive and negative opinionsof our current system, and their “wish list” going forward. We thenformed a Selection Committee, including members from manydifferent areas of our business, to be involved in fact-gathering,review, presentation and decision-making.

We have now entered into a relationship with our vendor ofchoice, Sage Software Group. Their product is called Sage ERPX3. (ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning.) This product

is built upon 21st century technology, and is compatible with allelectronic vehicles such as tablets, smart phones and scanners. Itwill also integrate with e-mail and Microsoft Office products. Sageis the number one software solution worldwide for manufacturingcompanies like Dynabrade.

Of course there will be a substantial investment in hardware,software and training to implement this new system. This willencompass many key areas such as company financials, sales andbilling, inventory control and manufacturing. Equally important,it will enhance our abilities to view information in a more intuitiveway, and allow seamless collaboration among departments. Andthese improvements will extend beyond our Clarence headquartersto include our European subsidiary in Luxembourg.

We look forward to working with each of you during theimplementation process. Our goal is to go live with the new systemin early 2015. Once complete, our employees will be armed withthe necessary tools to keep Dynabrade the Global Leader in Abrasive
