Santa will hear your Christmas wishes and is available for photos (bring your camera). The three areas of the Harbor, Dana Wharf, Mariners Village and Mariner’s Alley will all host holiday activities geared to families and children. There are many fun activities planned, including photos with Santa, performances by various characters, holiday crafts, and people painting. This year’s Holiday in the Harbor will include additional attractions adding to the fun and excitement. Activities start on the grass in front of Harpoon Henry’s at 34555 Golden Lantern, Dana Point Harbor (and Dana Point Harbor Drive). The parking and events are FREE! Santa PawsSat, Dec. 3 • 10am-3pm • El Torito Courtyard Pet Project Foundation is excited to host the 4th annual Santa Paws Photo Event. Bring your favorite pets and people to the El Torito Courtyard and have their picture taken with Santa for a donation of $10.00. Santa will be hearing those Christmas wishes as you cruise the Harbor. Bring your cameras for pictures with Santa. A $3 Donation to the El Camino Real Junior Woman’s Club would be appreciated. What a unique and fun way for kids of all ages to visit with Santa, so dress warm. Dear Boat Parade Entrants:Celebrating the 42nd Annual Dana Point Harbor Boat Parade of Lights “UNDER THE SEA”. The Parade showcases all of the elements that Dana Point has to offer, this will be your chance to share your vision of a holiday “Under the Sea.”

This year’s theme “Under the Sea” allows you to dive deep into the sea and come up with some oceanic and marine mermazing ideas!

The Trophy Award Categories are:

For each of the categories above your entry will be judged is each of the following, each night:1. Theme— Usage of the theme: “Under The Sea”2. Lights—Effectiveness of lighting used (Maximum 25 Points)3. Originality—Most original presentation incorporating theme (Maximum 25 Points)4. Color—Usage of color in both lights and display (Maximum 25 Points)5. Animation—Use of Human or mechanical movement in display (Maximum 25 Points)6. Best Dressed Crew—Use of costumes, props, etc. within theme (Maximum 25 Points)7. Best Powerboat / Best Sailboat—Best use of boat in all categories. (Maximum 25 Points)8. Judges Choice Cup—Boat with the most points over ALL 4 days. So, in order to qualify, you MUST be in the parade for all nights.

The Skipper’s Meeting will be on Monday, Nov. 28th 5:30-7:30pm at Dana West Yacht Club. Skipper’s and 1 crew member invited to this get together where they will be given their Parade numbers, parade instructions from the Harbor Master, decorating tips, meet the sponsors and receive 2 tickets to the Post Parade Trophy Breakfast hosted by Harpoon Henry’s on Sunday, December 18th at 9:30am. Additional breakfast tickets are available for $5. Entry fee for the parade is $20 and must be paid with entry form.

Your participation in the Parade of Lights is a valuable contribution to the community spirit of the holiday season. The Parade has become an exciting tradition of Dana Point Harbor and your participation and support is GREATLY appreciated. We hope the addition of new sponsors and CASH prizes will motivate you to get creative and have a whale of a good time!! The undersigned hereby requests the right to enter the above described Dana Point Harbor Boat Parade of Lights presented by the Dana Point Harbor Association. In consideration of being granted the right to enter such a Parade, the undersigned hereby assumes all risks incident to such Boat Parade of Lights and agrees that neither the Dana Point Harbor Association, County of Orange, the OC Harbor Department, the State of California, the designated sponsors nor any of the officers, employees, or agents of such bodies shall be liable to me for any damage, or injury arising out of, or incident to, said Boat Parade. For the same consideration, the undersigned agrees to save and hold harmless, the aforesaid bodies, their officers, employees and agents from any action or claim for damages arising out of or incident to, the activities of the undersigned in said Parade. Applicant also agrees and understands that this is a community and family friendly event and agrees to decorate their vessel in a family-friendly PG style and to adhere to proper decorum and code of conduct at all times. The Dana Point Harbor Association has the right to refuse participation and deny any vessel that does not adhere to this code of conduct the ability to participate in any night of the parade. Said vessel will lose their entry fee and shall not be considered for any awards or trophies.
