Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Happy Gaudete Sunday! Today the Church invites us
to wear rose vestments as a sign that the coming
celebrations are near! This different color definitely
stands out from the typical violet that is worn during
the season. The jarring vision of the pink.. er... uh…
rose, is meant to shake us out of any lackadaisical
spot in our hearts where maybe we’ve grown tired of
this season. Rather, we are invited to rejoice that
the Lord is near. I pray that our Lord pours forth an
abundance of His supernatural joy upon all of us
here at St. John the Baptist.

Confessions In addition to the regular times of
confessions this week, we will again have confes-
sions on Saturday morning from after the 8am Mass
until 11am. As of writing this, I am still trying to get
some other priests to come help out, but I anticipate
there will be at least one other priest besides me, if
you desire to go to someone else for confession. We
will also have Eucharistic Adoration in the Church
during this time. Please, be sure to receive the gift
of the Lord’s mercy to prepare our hearts for the
gift of Christmas.

Adoration Times We are hoping to extend the Tues-
day adoration times even outside of the Advent sea-
son. To do this, we need people to sign up to commit
to times so this can happen. If you are able to,
please use the sign up on the website. We are very
excited about these opportunities growing, and I am
grateful to have already heard from many of you of
the blessings of spending time with our Lord in this
way.

In Christ,
