The WVU Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral
Resources has three direct-
ADMISSIONtracks for incoming freshmen based primarily on math
readiness. These tracks maximize your chance for a successful
college experience.
The pathway on which you are admitted can determine the time it
takes for you to graduate.
Additionally, it is important to note that you won’t start
directly into a specific engineering discipline until you complete
the core classes required to move into that major. Some majors are
competitive, and entrance into them is based on GPA after
completion of six core courses, which include ENGL 101; CHEM 115;
MATH 155; and ENGR 101, 102 and 191.
TRACK 1

This track is for students who are ready for college-level
calculus. Students in this track typically graduate in four

There are several ways toVISIT CAMPUS, so you can find the
option that works best for you.
Schedule a campus visit through the WVU Visitors Center for a
guided or walking tour of the whole campus, and let them know you’d
like an appointment to see the engineering and computer science
facilities. They will set everything up for you! This option is
available on most weekdays throughout the year.
Do weekends work better for you? You can attend a special event
like the engineering-specific open house held once per semester or
a University-wide open house such as Discover WVU or Decide
WVU.
The one thing all visit options have in common? It’s the best
way for you to see if WVU is the place you want to call home. So
pick a date and come ask lots of questions! To learn more about
