resoundsthroughouttheBible,specificallyinconnectionwithpurificationandspiritualtriumphs:Jesus’fortydaysandnightsinthewilderness;Elijahfasted

forfortydays;thegreatfloodoffortydaysandnightsfromwhichNoahwasspared;Moses’fortydaysandnightsonMountSinaiconversingdirectlywithGod.AndittooktheIsraelitesfortyyearsfromthetimetheyleftEgyptuntiltheyarrivedinCanaan.Inowinviteyoutosetyourownpersonalintentionforasimilarsojournin

consciousness.Forthenextfortydays,ascendtotheholygroundofyourownbeingwherethetruesecondcomingoftheChristConsciousnesstakesplace.Nolongerwillyouwanderinthewildernessofignorancedrenchedbythefloodoftheworld’svalues,believingthatyouareseparatefromGod,seekingforsatisfactioninsourcespowerlesstogiveit.Instead,youwillliveyourlifefromanewplateauofconsciousnesssteepedintheloveandwisdomoftheInfinite.Colors,likenumbers,havetheirownvibrationalqualities.Springingfrom

THESOUL’SORGANICFREEDOM

ThereisawiseZensayingthatsaysyoucannotstopbirdsfromflyingaroundyourhead,butyoucanpreventthemfrommakingnestsinyourhair.Asyoubegintomaturespiritually,youdiscoverthatalthoughyoucannotstoptheworld’schatteraboutlackandlimitationfromwhirlingaroundyou,youcanpreventitfromlodginginyourconsciousness.How?ThroughmeditationandaffirmativeprayerthecompassofyourawarenessdevelopsthehabitofcontinuouslyturninginthedirectionoftheSpiritforintuitiveguidance,wisdom,joy,peace,andlove.NowI’mnotsuggestingthatyoushoulddenythatthenoisybirdsoflimitation

fulfillmentthatcanonlybefoundwithin.Thatwhichismerelyexternalispowerlesstosatisfytheinnerspirit.ByreversingthesearchlightofyoursensesandfocusingyourattentiononthatwhichisReal,youwillundergoapermanentshiftinconsciousnessthatwillrequalifyyourentireexperience.ThisdaysetyourintentiontosilentlyconversewiththeSpiritinthelanguage

ofyourheart.Ifitispeacethatyouseek,lookfirsttoitssourceresidingonthealtarwithin.Ifitisjoyforwhichyoulong,communewithitssourceinmeditation.Ifitisasenseofsafetyandinnersecurityyouwant,practiceaffirmativeprayeraboutyourtruenatureofimmortalityandwholeness.Then,at

noexternalcircumstancecanerase.Ifyouwithholdyourgiftsfromexpressing,thereisasenseofincompleteness,thereisafeelingofnothavingarrivedatyourtruepurpose.YouareanindividualizedexpressionofGodwhohasincarnatedtoshineitslightin,as,andthroughyou.Ateverypointinyourincarnation,youarebeingaskedtorevealthekingdomofGodonearthasitisinheaven.Buddhismhasamaxim:Nobodyisspecial.Noneofusisspecial,buteachofusisessentialtothedivineplanorwewouldnotexist.Today,asyousittomeditateandpray,makeacommitmenttoflingopenwide

theportalsofyourconsciousnessandthedoorofyourheartasyouinviteThatwhichcreatedyouinitsownimageandlikenesstorevealhowyoumaybreatheeachbreathandwalkeachstepasafreeagentofconsciousco-creativity.

Stopworking,startserving!Asthatthoughtforcefullypressedinuponmyconsciousness,IwaspulledwithintoconversewiththeSpirit.Whywasthiscommandpresentedintothefieldofmyawareness?AsIcenteredmyselfinalisteningmode,Ibegantounderstandthatmanypeoplehavetheconceptthattheygoto“work.”Thinkofthenewvocabularythatwouldemergeifpeopleembracedanattitudeofserviceandgenerosityofheart,ratherthanwork!Whenyouperformthatwhichhasbeengivenyoutodowithanattitudeofworkyouareactuallyinservitudetothatwork;youareaservanttoyourownburdensomefalseidea.Service,ontheotherhand,isfreedom.RalphWaldoEmersonsaidthatweplacetheuniverseinourdebtaswegive

morethanwhatwearecompensatedfor,whichmeansthatwedon’tworkformoneyalone.Sincewecannotoutgivetheself-givingnessoftheSpirit,theuniversegivesevenmorebacktousthanwecouldevergivetoit.Youareheretoservethegreatlawoflife.Youare,infact,inservicetothe

SupremeCreativeIdeathatproliferatesourenvironmentandwhichisevennowthinkingthroughyourmind,workingthroughyourhands,walkingthroughyourfeet.Itdoestheworkappointedforyoutodoandperfectsthatwhichconcernsyouwhenyounolonger“work”forthelittleselfbut“serve”thegreaterSelfofyourbeingandtheuniverse.Today,recognizeandpractice—nomatterwhatyourjobdescriptionis—that

youareinservicetoanEternalIdea.Noroleistoogreatortoosmallwhenofferedinlovingservice.Thenyouwilljoyfullyactwithnonattachment,surrenderingthefruitsofyourlaborstotheInfinite.Open,whichmeansservice,

andyouwillfindyourselffilledwithvitalityandcreativitycomingdirectlyfromtheinexhaustiblefontofinspirationitself.

FREEDOM’STESTIMONY

Ionceheardtestimonyfromawomanwhosehistorydescribedherasafive-timefelonconfinedtodeathrow.Notsurprisingly,shebegantosubstitutethoughtsofherimpendingdoomwiththoughtsofGod.AsherrelationshipwiththeSpiritdeepened,itovertookherconsciousnessasbeingthesupremereality.Profoundchangesbegantooccur.Atfirstitwassmallthings:Shewasallowedtoexerciseintheyard,shejoinedtheprisonchoir.Eventuallyherdeathsentencewasreducedtoalifesentence.Todaysheisfreeandspendshertimevisitingchurches,singingandspeakingabouttheempoweringpresenceofGod.ThetruthisthatshebecamefreethemomentsheturnedtotheSpiritasher

refugeandstrength.AsshemergedhermindwiththeOneMind,shesloughedoffthesenseofaselfseparatefromtheessenceofherlife.HerunionwithGodbecamesocompletethatsheexperiencedanewincarnationrightwithinthisverylifetime.Divinelawresponded,andeverythingaroundherconformedtoherbirthinhertrueidentity.Shewouldhavebeenfreehadsheneverlefttheconfinesofherprisoncell,becauseshewasalreadyinwardlyfree.Manypeoplegivethemselveslifesentencesservedoutintheprisonoftheir

ownminds.Theyareprisonersoffear,jealousy,greed,lack,limitation,selfishness,andignorance.Today,examinethewaysinwhichyouhaveimprisonedyourconsciousness.

Then,bewillingtostepintoyourtruenatureoffreedom.Watchtheshacklesofyourfalsebeliefs,unwantedhabits,andnegativethoughtpatternsfallawayastheidentityofyourtrueselfunfolds.Setyourintentiontoliveyourlifeinthefreedomconsciousnessthatisalreadyyours.

Whenyoumoveintoyourspiritualpractice,intothosemomentsofprivatetimewiththeSpirit,thisiswhenyoucontactthepresencewithinyou.OftentimesyouthinkthatyouaregoingtoGodtochangesomeconditioninyourlife,tofulfillamaterialdesireorneed,butwhatyouarereallygoingtoGodforistocaptureasenseofspiritualfulfillment.WhenyoutrulytabernaclewiththeSpirit,thedesireforanythinglessfallsaway.Evenwhenyourintentionistomanifestsomethingmaterial,ifyoutouchthe

sacredpresenceindirectcommunion,youforgetanyexternaldesirethatfirstdrewyouintomeditationorprayer.Thisiswhatismeantby“righttouching.”Asyoureachwithintotouchconsciousness,theIneffablereciprocatesbycorresponding,bytouchingyouwiththebreathofgrace.Thismakesitobviouswhyyouwouldwanttoaddtoyourspiritualpractice

momentsofagendalessmeditationandprayer.Inotherwords,therearetimeswhenyousitandjustloveGodandallthatGodmeanstoyou.Havingnootherpurposethantobeconsumedbythedivineenergyofyourpractice,youtouchSpirit’svulnerabilityandexperiencethetruthinscripturewhichsays,“WhiletheyareyetprayingIhavealreadyanswered.”Agendalessspiritualpracticetranscendsthesurfacetensionofseparationand

letsyoubecomeawarethatitisGod’sgoodpleasuretogiveyouthekingdom.Youhavenowplacedyourselfinapositionofreceptivity;youhavebecomegraciousenoughtoacceptthegift.Today,setasidetimethatbelongsonlytoyouandGod.Experimentwithagendalessprayerandmeditationinthelaboratoryofyourconsciousness,anddiscoverSpirit’sloveforyou,whichissogreatthatithaspersonalizeditselfasyourverylife.
