DANIELLE FOXHOVEN

FIRST SEASON

Danielle Foxhoven began her tenure as Head Coach of the Purdue Northwest Women’s Soccer program in Fall

2016.

A native of Colorado, Foxhoven spent four seasons playing professionally – three of them in National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) – and one year in the Russian Premier League.

Foxhoven was a member of the NWSL’s Seattle Reign in 2014, following a stint with the Portland Thorns in the inaugural NWSL season in 2013, the same year the Thorns captured the league’s national championship. Prior to that, she spent a season as a member of the FC Energy of the Russian Premier League.

She currently serves as the Head Soccer Trainer for the Jordan Brand in Chicago, where works with local clubs as a developmental and technical coach. Prior to those positions, Fox-

hoven’s coaching experience includes several stints as a youth soccer club coach and a stop at her alma mater as

an assistant coach and recruiter for the University of Portland.

After a stellar prep career in Colorado where she was named a three-time Colorado Sports Woman of the Year for Soccer, Foxhoven was a standout player at the University of Portland (Ore.), where she finished her collegiate career with the NCAA Division I Pilots ranked fourth in the program’s all-time scoring list with 139 points – 57 goals and 25 assists.

Foxhoven holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Portland.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

With her performance on the field and in the classroom, former Purdue Calumet stand-out Rachel Shmagranoff was named the first CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-American in Purdue Northwest Athletics history in 2014. Shmagranoff graduated in December 2014 with a degree in microbiology, and carried a 4.0 GPA.

Senior Kami Graber finished her collegiate soccer career on

a high note in then-Purdue Calumet’s season finale

in 2015, as she netter her first career hat trick against

Calumet St. Joseph.

In 2015, Kami Graber and Michelle Wartman were one of 588 women’s soccer student-athletes named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

and the women’s soccer team led the Purdue Northwest athletic department with eight Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference

all-academic selections.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS

AT DOWLING PARKPEPSI FIELD

Pepsi Field was completed in the Spring of 2015 and debuted in August 2015 as the official home of Purdue Northwest men’s and women’s soccer. Located in the newly constructed Dowling Park, the field

features an all-turf surface, making it playable year-round. Pepsi Field is located just east of Kennedy Avenue and north of Interstate 90/94, off J.F. Mahoney Drive, just west of the Jean Shephard Community Center located at 3031 J.F. Mahoney Dr, Hammond, IN 46323.

The field, along with all of Dowling Park’s new facilities, is thanks to the generous support of the City of Hammond and Mayor Thomas McDermott, Jr., who announced its partnership with Purdue Northwest in 2011.

The $10 million complex, which includes all turf fields for softball, baseball, and soccer fields; plus restrooms, a concessions area, athletic training facilities, a walking path, parking lot, and six tennis courts, was completed in Spring 2015.

HEAD COACH

COMMUNITY SERVICEThe Purdue Northwest women’s soccer team volunteered for the Northwest Indiana Cancer Kids Foundation at their 5th annual St. Baldrick’s event at the Local Operating Engineers Hall in Merrillville, Ind. The squad helped with setup and running different stations, which consisted of festival type games and prizes. Team members also helped to run the photo booth, bake sale and taking turns circulating the event dressed as Elmo.
