> Prysmian FP100® is the original fire resistant single core cable for use in metal conduits or trunking to achieve a highly robust fire resistant wiring system. It maintains circuit integrity during a fire both when tested in free air or in a metallic conduit. When burnt, it produces very low levels of smoke and virtually no (less than 0.5%) acidic gases, thus safeguarding human life and protecting equipment.
Through the use of a dual layer insulation system, FP100® offers fire resistance combined with abrasion and damage resistance, making it an excellent choice both for upgrading existing conduit based systems to current essential safety circuit standards or new installations.
Systems based upon standard pvc cables, even when protected by metal conduit, have been shown to fail within minutes in a fire. Therefore they are no longer permitted by BS5839-1 or BS5266-1 for fire alarm or emergency lighting systems, as they do not ensure prolonged operation in the event of a fire.
> Prysmian FP100® is Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) listed as a fire resistant cable. The LPCB range approval is given on the basis of (i) satisfactory testing at an enhanced voltage of 600/1000V to BS6387 category CWZ when tested in steel conduit and the conduit is considered as the metallic layer required by BS6387, for those sizes capable of fitting within the test conduit, and (ii) satisfactory testing to IEC60331-21 at an enhanced temperature of 950°C for those sizes too large to fit in the test conduit.
Additional tests have demonstrated the ability of FP100® to achieve a 120 minute rating (PH120) to BS EN50200 and a 120 minute rating to BS8434-2 when tested in a steel conduit. These tests demonstrate the ability of FP100® to meet the fire resistance requirements necessary for use in "enhanced" installations in accordance with BS5839-1:2002 and "Cable systems with an inherently high resistance to attack by fire" in accordance with BS5266-1:2005.
Prysmian FP100® cables are manufactured under an ISO9001 Quality Management System certified by BASEC and LPCB.
> Prysmian FP100® may be considered as a low smoke conduit wire to BS7211 for the purposes of installation, and should be installed in accordance with BS7671/IEE Wiring Regulations, or any other appropriate national regulations. It is suitable for installation in surface mounted or embedded conduits and trunking, or other similar fixed protected installations. For surface systems, the use of a metallic conduit or trunking is recommended to ensure integrity of the system in the event of fire. For fully embedded systems protected by a non combustible layer, non metallic conduit or trunking may be used.

FIRE RESISTANT CABLES
> The original highly durable and dressable, easy to terminate and install fire resistant cable, using the unique InsuditeTM damage resistant insulation system. Approved for fire detection and fire alarm critical signal paths to BS5839-1:2002+A2:2008 and voice alarm systems to BS5839-8:2008 in ‘standard’ application areas, and emergency lighting systems to BS5266-1:2005.
The changes to cable test methods and requirements first introduced by BS5839-1:2002+A2:2008 “Fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings - Part 1: Code of practice for system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance” mean that fire resistant cables must now be approved against new test requirements.
> In addition to approvals to BS7629-1 and BS6387 Category CWZ, FP200 Gold® has received BASEC and LPCB approval to BS5839-1:2002 for ‘standard’ applications. This includes approval to BS EN 50200 Class PH30 and the new integrated fire, shock and water test BS8434-1 for 30 minutes. FP200 Gold® is also approved to BS EN 50200 Class PH60 as required by BS5266-1:2005.
All Prysmian FP200Gold® cables are manufactured under an ISO 9001 Quality System certified by BASEC and LPCB.
> FP200 Gold® has excellent data/signal transmission characteristics making it ideal for voice alarm, addressable and networked systems.
> In accordance with BS5839-1 and BS5266-1 requirements, cables must be supported by a fixing that can withstand the same fire conditions as the cable. To meet this requirement the use of Prysmian AP LSOH® coated metal P-clips or the new FP FirefixTM rapid fixing system is recommended.
FP200Gold should be installed in accordance with BS7671/IEE Wiring Regulations and/or any other appropriate national regulations or codes. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation in suitably protected environments and particularly appropriate for surface wiring, direct burial in plaster, tray or other installations requiring a dressable product.

> Prysmian FP400® is the original fire resistant armoured cable providing an easy to install and terminate, robust fire resistant wiring system. In addition to maintaining circuit integrity during a fire, FP400® produces very low levels of smoke and virtually no (less than 0.5%) acidic gases, thus safeguarding human life and protecting equipment.
FP400® handles like a standard armoured cable and can be installed just as easily. No special tools or accessories are needed for installation or termination of FP400®, which ensures that substantial installation cost savings, compared with MICC, can be achieved through its use.
FP400® is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation requiring a robust armoured cable, including direct burial, trough, fixed direct, tray or ladder.
Prysmian FP400® complies with BS7846 Category F2 which ensures that it complies with the requirements for "protected power circuits" given in the 2000 edition of Approved Document B Fire safety of The Building Regulations 2000.
> Prysmian FP400® is British Approvals Service for Cables (BASEC) approved to BS7846 Category F2. It is also Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) listed as a fire resistant cable and approved to BS6387 Category CWZ, at an enhanced voltage of 600/1000V.
Witnessed ad-hoc tests have demonstrated the ability of FP400®
to achieve fire resistant properties in excess of those required by BS6387 Category CWZ and on the basis of these tests Prysmian FP400® has been approved for many projects where previously only MICC had been approved.
Additional tests have demonstrated the ability of FP400® to achieve a 60 minute rating (PH60) to BS EN50200 and a 30 minute rating to BS8434-1. These tests demonstrate that FP400®
also meets the requirements for use in "standard" installations in accordance with BS5839-1:2002 for fire detection and alarm systems, and "Cables with inherently high resistance to attack by fire" in accordance with BS5266-1:2005 for emergency lighting.
All Prysmian FP400®cables are manufactured under an ISO 9001 Quality System certified by BASEC and LPCB.
> Prysmian FP400® may be considered as a low smoke armoured cable to BS6724 for the purposes of installation and should be installed in accordance with BS7671/IEE Wiring Regulations or any other appropriate national regulations. Although standard armour cable fixings and glands may be used, it is important to ensure that, when the cable is required to maintain circuit integrity in a fire, any fixing used to support the cable can also withstand that fire. The use of the appropriate BICON® gland or cleat is recommended.

KEY APPLICATIONS
Electrical supplies for fire fighting, life safety and property protection systems. Active fire safety systems part of a Fire Safety Engineering solution rely on an effective electrical supply remaining operational during a fire as described in BS8519:2010.
Greater emphasis is now being given to the integrity of electrical circuits which maintain the functional safe working conditions of such equipment and systems. FP600S is a new generation fire resistant power cable designed to meet the much more onerous fire survival requirement now considered appropriate for such applications.
Examples of circuits which are required to remain operational under such conditions include:

INSTALLATION
Minimum recommended installation temperature 0°C.Suitable for indoor and outdoor installations. For externalexposure the use of a Black sheath is recommended.
Should be installed in accordance with BS7671/IEE WiringRegulations or any other appropriate national regulations.
Suitable for direct burial, trough, tray, ladder orother installations requiring a robust armoured cable.
BENDING RADIUS
A minimum internal radius of bend of 6 x cable diameteris recommended during installations for cables havingcircular conductors and 8 x cable diameter for cableshaving shaped conductors.
ACCESSORIESNo special accessories are required for the installationof FP600S.
Standard brass armoured cable glands and cast iron cleatsmay be used.
When the cable is required to maintain circuit integrityin a fire, it is important that any accessory used tosupport the cable can also withstand that fire. The use ofthe appropriate BICON® gland or cleat is recommended.

BS8519 requires fire resistant power cable to meet category 1, 2 or 3 of BS8491, the integrated fire, shock and water jet test.
FP600S meets all three categories and achieves the highest 120 minute fire test rating.

AFUMEX LSXTM Screened Wiring Cables
Installation methods for current rating in accordance with BS7671/IEE Wiring Regulations.
The tabulated ratings are based upon a 30°C ambient temperature and 70°C operating temperature. For other ambient temperatures or where cables are grouped together, the appropriate rating factors should be applied.
These cables when connected to suitably rated equipment are capable of being operated at a conductor temperature of 90°C. If current ratings etc are required please contact us.
Cables installed in floors, ceilings, thin walls and partitions When BS8436 cable is used to comply with BS7671:2008 clause 522.6.5 (ii), or 522.6.6 (i), or 522.6.8 (i), not only are the requirements of BS7671 on current rating, voltage drop, grouping etc. to be met but the recommendation of BS8436 for current rating and protective devices should also be followed.
Only Type B circuit breakers conforming to BS EN 60898 or Type B RCBOs conforming to BS EN 61009-12 should be used. They shall also have a maximum let-through energy (I²t) not greater than 42000 A²s for 1.0mm² and 1.5mm² cable and 60000 A²s for 2.5mm² cables.
For 1.0mm² cable the largest rated circuit breaker that shall be used is 16 amps, and may be lower depending on how the cable is used and installed.For 1.5mm² cable the largest rated circuit breaker that shall be used is 20 amps, and may be lower depending on how the cable is used and installed.For 2.5mm² cable the largest rated circuit breaker that shall be used is 32 amps, and may be lower depending on how the cable is used and installed.

● Suitable for surface wiring, direct burial in plaster, tray or other installations
AFUMEX LSX™ wiring cables are designed for power and lighting applications where a screened low smoke halogen free cable is required such as:
● IEE Wiring Regulations compliant cable for installation in thin walls and partitions (clause 522.6 of 17th Edition) (1.0mm2 to 2.5mm2)
● Lightweight replacement for armoured cable in cases where high level mechanical protection is not needed
● Fully screened cable for EMC compliance and clean power supply
● Robust alternative to surface mounted flat wiring cable
● Reduced flame propagation, low smoke halogen free fire performance for public access buildings
Key Applications
Installations ● Minimum recommended installation temperature 0°C
● Automatic earthing of the screen is achieved by termination of circuit protective conductor
● Suitable for indoor and outdoor installations in suitably protected environments
● For external exposure white sheathed cable is recommended
● Should be installed in accordance with BS7671/IEE Wiring Regulations or other appropriate national regulations
Cables Installed in Thin Walls and Partitions
AFUMEX LSX™ contains an earthed metallic screen, which is in contact with a full size, un-insulated circuit protective conductor.
This provides an earth fault path for the fault current if the cable is penetrated by a nail (or similar), and when connected to a suitably selected protective device offers electrical protection by this connection of the circuit.
This performance has been independently verified by nail penetration tests carried out by ERA.
Installation note: AFUMEX LSX™ cable combined with a suitable protective device provides a means of compliance with clause 522-6 of BS 7671:2008. AFUMEX LSX™ cable meets the

AFUMEX LSX™ is lightweight and compact in design, allowing cost savings to be made by the selection of smaller, lighter fixings, supports and cable tray or basket. AFUMEX LSX™ is also quick to install and easily stripped, significantly reducing the first and second fix termination times when compared with SWA cable (Steel Wire Armoured).
Simple NYLON/LSOH glands may be used.
Installation note: A neat finish can be quickly and easily achieved. AFUMEX LSX™ is ideal for clipping direct to the metal frame structure of a pre-fabricated fast track building.
